Hit hard by the 2008 recession, the State of Nevada suffers from one the highest unemployment rates in the nation (13-14%). U.S. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is one of the most destructive influences our country faces in Washington D.C. I do not know about the rest of America, but I am fed up with this traitor and his dismissive propaganda.
Perhaps America should send Nevada voters a message—loud and clear—before the next election.
Vote this power hungry, little man out or your fellow Americans will regretfully decimate your economy.
A national boycott, not a threat of, but an actual boycott of travel to, gaming (including online gambling), vacationing in, and trips to the national treasures found in this beautiful state would send a powerful message to the Nevada voter and business community. Think of it as a Harry Reid induced Nevada shutdown.
I have nothing against Nevada. Nevada is a beautiful state. Nevada is home for many patriotic conservatives. To be frank, I have never had the desire to go to Vegas and I would not miss it if it shut down. Apparently, many Americans do not share my opinion.
One sixth of Nevada’s economy is derived from gambling, vice and its associated tourism businesses. Estimates from 2010 put the gaming industries contribution to Nevada’s $125 billion economy at somewhere around $25 billion.
How do you think the residents of Nevada would act at the polls if they knew that re-electing Harry Reid would bring a loss of a huge chunk of their economy and state tax revenue? I know my suggestion will not make the Casino moguls or their capos happy, but he guys, it is time to make a change. You can send me the dead fish wrapped in Harry Reid’s suit jacket as a token of your appreciation. Moreover, I promise to leave you alone once he is gone.
Americans should know that the Las Vegas business community—the gaming, hospitality industry, retail industries and their associated PAC’s—are on Senator Reid’s top 20 campaign contributors list. Perhaps the threat of a boycott of their services might influence a change in their benevolence. After all, it is their money—in part—that gets Harry elected.
While we are at it, why not boycott Comcast? According to Opensecrets.org, Comcast places in the top five for individual business contributions to Senator Reid.
It might make sense for Nevada industries and businesses to re-direct their campaign support to Republican Governor Brian Sandoval. Rumor has it that the governor is considering a run at Senator Reid. A Sandoval victory would be a wise move for Nevada, economically speaking that is.
Every day, I hear Americans bellyaching about Harry Reid. And justifiably so. So why not start a national movement to rid our government of his brand of insolent treachery forever. What is the worst that can happen?
If Nevada and Las Vegas do not find a way to send Washington D.C. a more patriotic and liberty-minded representative in the next election, let us remind them of the consequences of their votes. Harry Reid happened in Vegas. Perhaps he should stay in Vegas. I am not willing to gamble on more of his influence in our government. How about you America?
