The President and his administration are drawing one heck of a line in the sand this week, as the liberal left continues to push forward with their latest attempts to nullify the 2016 election.
Donald Trump has been under siege over the course of the last three years. His outsider origins have the Washington establishment gunning for him with an eagerness, arrogance, and disdain, particularly as he ramps up his efforts to “drain the swamp.
The latest attack on the Oval Office comes via a “formal impeachment inquiry”, which is anything but formal.
The President is now taking the Democrats to task over their refusal to vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry, and has indicated that the White House will not comply with any subpoenas or requests until House Speaker Nancy Pelosi makes it official.
In a defiant letter that echoed the president’s recent impeachment messaging — accusing Democrats of violating the Constitution and civil liberties and attempting to overturn the results of the 2016 election — the White House said it would not comply with the request from House Democrats because they were conducting an invalid investigation.
“Never before in our history has the House of Representatives — under the control of either political party — taken the American people down the dangerous path you seem determined to pursue,” White House counsel Pat Cipollone wrote.
This was not an unexpected maneuver by any means, with the President and his inner circle telegraphing the move late last week.
It will force the Democrats to make a sudden and succinct change in tactics, keeping the anti-Trump crowd on the ropes for the time being.
