When the Founding Fathers decided that the second most important freedom future Americans should have was the right to bear arms, they did so for a terribly important reason: So that no government would ever be able to disarm their citizens again. They had long suffered under the tyrannical hand of the British, and knew that the only path to true liberty would be traveled by armed and ready Americans.
As such, it is important to remind ourselves that the 2nd Amendment is literally an insurance policy against being disarmed.
Still, our state and federal governments continue to infringe upon our inalienable rights.

KIRO7 reports that Attorney General Bob Ferguson (D) is also pushing gun controls for the session to consider, among which are background checks for ammunition purchases. K5News reports that Ferguson also wants would-be ammunition sellers to first acquire a “license to sell” from the state.

The absolutely nature of the verbiage of the Second Amendment has made it incredibly difficult for liberal lawmakers to abolish it outright, and has forced those who oppose the right to bear arms to wage a war of semantics, annoyance, and expense in order to neuter this all-important piece of the Constitution.
