The U.S. staunchly supports Syrian rebels. In the war against Assad and the rebel forces, the U.S. is backing the Al-Qaeda rebels. But here are videos of what the “moderate” Free Syrian Army is doing to Christians in Maaloula.
Does this look “moderate” enough? This video was taken by the rebel forces of the Free Syrian Army, supported by the U.S., as they decimated the ancient city of Maaloula. The brutal attacks by this “moderate” forces occurred only one day after Secretary of State John Kerry told the Senate on Foreign Relations Committee an interesting tale.
“There is a real moderate opposition that exists. General Idriss is running the military arm of that.”
Secretary Kerry is going to have to do some explaining on this statement. Initial reports indicated that the attack was carried out by Al-Qaeda rebels. And it is true that al-Qaeda affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra carried out the attack, they were not alone. Also helping in the attack were extremists Ahrar al Sham and the “moderate” Free Syrian Army. The very same army that both Kerry and Senator John McCain have praised as “moderates” in the Syrian conflict.
Either someone is deeply confused about what it means to be a “moderate” Islamist or they deliberately lied. In Islam, there are no moderates. Here is another video clip of the “moderates” doing what they do best, destroying and killing infidels.
We’ve been knowingly misled about who the real enemy is here. There is no “moderate” Islam and “extremist” Islam. It’s all one and the same.
The Obama Administration has touted the Free Syrian Army for some time, largely due to the fact that they are dedicated to bringing down the Assad regime.
In June, the United States committed to aiding the Free Syrian Army despite concerns that materials or money given to it might also benefit rebels linked to Al Qaeda. Malula is one of three towns in Syria where Aramaic is still spoken in daily life.
U.S. officials began supplying the rebel forces with ammunition in June after concluding that Assad had launched a chemical attack in Syria. And Obama himself declared last August, that a chemical weapons attack would be crossing a “red line,” a statement he denies today.
The only true statement in regards to this conflict is there is no “secular” fighting force amongst the Syrian rebels. The terms “Islam” and “secular” do not mesh. Certainly not in terms of government. There will never be a truly secular Islamist state in any form or fashion in the Middle East.
The Al-Qaeda aligned al-Nursa front is one of the most extreme Islamist terrorist groups in Syria. And this is the very group that is pathologically attacking and killing Christians in Syria right now. And the Free Syrian Army is right in the mix. And there is more video proof of how “extreme” this group really is.
What the U.S. is trying to do in Syria is nauseating. In trying to oust Assad, the groups benefiting the most are Al-Qaeda terrorists. No one wins in this conflict, least of all Christians and Jews.
In June, Ari Ratner, a fellow at the Truman National Security Project and former Middle East adviser in the Obama State Department said, “We have no illusions about the prospect of engaging with the Assad regime — it must still go — but we are also very reticent to support the more hard-line rebels.”
This couldn’t be more false. The Obama Administration has been more than willing to support the Syrian rebels. To say that they are “reticent” to support the hard-line rebels is absurd. They knowingly threw their support behind rebel Al-Qaeda forces without hesitation.
This is what this conflict will bring. Death and continued destruction to Christian villages. As the Christian persecution in Egypt intensifies, this is more than a sign of what is to come in the very near future. There is no question that this will spread west and that someday this will be a reality in the United States.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
