The morning after the world learned President Donald Trump contracted the coronavirus, a Seattle-area teacher went on a rant about the president to sixth graders. When a parent complained, he misled her about what happened. And it was caught on video, according to The Jason Rantz Show on AM 770 KTTH.
“I admire Donald J. Trump because he is making America great again. And because he is the best president the United States of America could ever, ever have. And he built the wall so terrorists couldn’t come into in the U.S. Trump is the best person in the world. And that’s why I had admire him.”
Not only did the teacher boot the student from the chat, but he also proceeded to scold the child for his “inappropriate” answer.

The teacher then told the class that President Trump had created vision and hatred – refusing to even mention the president’s name. Told the children they should not admire such a person.
“The example that was shared in the chat, which I went ahead and erased for us, was not appropriate right?” Stanton said to his students. “Especially as that individual has created so much division and hatred between people and specifically spoken hatred to many different individuals, OK?”
Rantz reports that Stanton would not even use the president’s name during his rant, referring to him as “that individual.”
“Again, that individual has spoken hate to many individuals and I don’t think is an appropriate example for a role model that we should be admiring,” the teacher continued.
Twitter jumped in:
Sad a teacher would kick a 10-year-old boy out of online class when the boy, son of a Honduran immigrant, answered the question posed, who does he admire, with Trump. Sadder yet was teacher’s explanation to Mom before he knew she had video. Sad all around.

We need to take our education system back from these fringe educators. What happened to classrooms with diverse opinions and not following groupthink? It’s supposed to be about learning not indoctrination!

The teacher goes on to lie to the parent about what happened. The only reason the truth got out is because the parent had recorded the online class session as well as the call with the teacher. Teacher’s comments show clear bias – he can’t even refer to the President by name!

The mom did awesome, respectful but firm. She explained her expectations for her son and his teachers. And being an immigrant she was in a great position to defend her son’s words about the wall.
