Thanks to Obama, Lynne Stewart was released from prison on New Year's Eve. Like the Lockerbie bomber, who also secured an early release, she, too, apparently has cancer (don't they all?). Is Obamacare taking care of this vicious and evil troll?
Lynne Stewart, the terror lawyer whom the libs love and jihadists adore, was released early after being convicted and sentenced to 10 years back in July of 2010 after her outrageous first sentencing of only 28 months (she should have gotten life for sedition, or better yet, death by hanging). Stewart was guilty of passing secret messages from Omar Abdel Rahman, mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombings, to his devout jihadist followers. George Soros paid for some of her defense.
Stewart (along with co-defendants and co-workers Ahmed Abdel Sattar and Mohammed Yousry) was found guilty of helping her 1995 client, Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, communicate with his Egyptian-based organization, the Islamic Group.
She has since been a celebrated figure by the left. She spoke at an ethics conference at an NY law school prior to her long-overdue incarceration.
Obama released her.
The left has taken up her "cause" (but of course!). On Valentine's Day (but of course!) the traitors are hosting an evening with Stewart — a celebration of her release and a fundraiser for this pig.
Thanks to Pamela Hall for sending the invite:
An Evening with Lynne Stewart
Feb 14th, 2014St. Peter's Church — The Jazz Church
(619 Lexington Ave @ 54th St)
Event Website: here
Come to an evening of music, song and sharing love for recently released People's Lawyer Lynne Stewart. Because of a determined people's movement, Lynne is finally home with her family. But she has urgent medical needs and costs. Lynne's Stage 4 breast cancer spread a year ago to both lungs, back, bones, and lymph nodes. Now 74, she has lost weight and has trouble breathing; doctors estimate her lifespan at 12 months. Lynne will soon begin treatment requiring her to pay deductibles and co-payments. To boost the odds, she'll use a special diet, vitamins, and other healing methods – some costly and none covered by insurance.
Robert Spencer writes of "the Jazz Church":
At. Peter's Church, "the Jazz Church," regularly holds Jazz Vespers, and was even the site of the funeral of the towering jazz saxophonist John Coltrane (at the funeral other jazz giants, Albert Ayler and Ornette Coleman, performed). In stark contradiction (although they wouldn't think so) to its celebration of America's greatest indigenous art form, it is also, unfortunately, an epicenter of Leftist agitprop: this event for Lynne Stewart is being announced at the hard-Left Popular Resistance site. These America-hating Leftists are excited to honor Lynne Stewart, who was recently freed from prison early after serving part of a ten-year sentence for passing messages to and from the supporters of her client, the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman.
Sheikh Omar, aka The Blind Sheikh, is currently serving a life sentence in prison in North Carolina for his role in plotting the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, as well as for planning to bomb other New York City landmarks, including the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels. He had piously hoped to murder 100,000 people in the Tunnel bombings and 250,000 in the World Trade Center attack. Earlier, in Egypt, he had been charged, although not convicted, of issuing a fatwa calling for the murder of Anwar Sadat for making peace with Israel.
Apparently all that is just fine with the good people (who are convinced of their moral superiority) at Popular Resistance and the Jazz Church. Apparently Jazz Church officials don't think they would have been among those the Blind Sheikh would have murdered had his plots been successful.
If Lynne Stewart had been in prison for passing notes to and from the maker of the Muhammad video that Obama Administration officials falsely blamed for the Benghazi jihad attacks, do you think the Jazz Church would be feting her? I don't either.
The Federal Panel that revisited her original sentencing wrote:
"From the moment she committed the first act for which she was convicted, through her trial, sentencing and appeals," Judge Robert Sack of the Second Circuit Court of Appeals wrote, "Stewart has persisted in exhibiting what seems to be a stark inability to understand the seriousness of her crimes."
Stewart failed to understand "the breadth and depth of the danger in which" her crimes had "placed the lives and safety of unknown innocents, and the extent to which they constituted an abuse of her trust and privilege as a member of the bar," the panel concluded.
This jihad-coddling grandmother remains defiant. She called 9/11 an "armed struggle." Upon her initial sentencing, she boasted that she could serve the term "standing on her head." After she was convicted of aiding and abetting Rahman, she told an interviewer she "would do it again." She has repeatedly told liberal sycophantic journalists that she would not have done anything differently.
After a jubilant return to New York City upon her release last month, Stewart thanked Louis Farrakhan, bragged about her (convicted cop-killer) Mumia Abu Jamal pin, condemned the government that had just released her and vowed to continue her radical advocacy of "political prisoners." No regrets, no remorse, no repentance. (Human Events)Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
