Trump takes swipe at New York Times after latest Kavanaugh kerfuffle

The President has no qualms letting the world know how he’s feeling, particularly when it comes to the rash of “fake news” here in the United States.

For much of his presidency, Trump has been battling the infotainment industry and their concerted efforts to demean and delegitimize his election.  Many a stroll to Marine One have included an accusatory finger-point and the phrase “you are fake news”, often tossed in the general direction of CNN – one of the President’s most outspoken critics.

Now, after a blatant and transparent attack on Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in the New York Times, the President is calling the paper out as only he can.

“The one who is actually being assaulted is Justice Kavanaugh – Assaulted by lies and Fake News!” Trump wrote. “This is all about the LameStream Media working with their partner, the Dems.”

The retraction itself demonstrates just how tawdry the Times’ story was to begin with.

Editors’ Note: An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding as assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party, The book reports the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article.

The New York Times article spawned fresh criticisms of Kavanaugh by democratic lawmakers, who found themselves calling for his impeachment from the Supreme Court over the weekend.
