Hillary Clinton has been at the center of controversy over why Benghazi happened and she has utterly failed in being forthcoming to the American people via their representatives in Congress. From her "failure to recall" to lies regarding her infamous email scandal to the promotion of a fictitious YouTube video being the cause of the attacks in Benghazi, Clinton has done everything to the contrary of being a responsible adult concerning an event that took the lives of four Americans, including an ambassador.
Gowdy provided opening statements and put forth many of the questions that still linger to this day and during all of this Hillary Clinton seems completely unconcerned about the statements being made.
However, it took Chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) just under a minute to explain to the nonchalant Clinton today just why the Benghazi committee had to have her testify under oath today. Take a look at how Clinton is completely disconnected from Gowdy's opening statements about the fallen Americans in this clip.
Then, around 3:15, Gowdy gets to the heart of the matter as to why Clinton was called to testify.
"Even after an accountability review board and a half dozen Congressional investigations, these and other questions still lingered and these questions lingered because previous investigations were not thorough. These questions lingered because these previous investigations were narrow in scope and either incapable or unwilling to access the facts and evidence necessary to answer all relevant questions."
One of the specifics he brought up was that if previous investigations were thorough, how did they miss Mrs. Clinton's emails and fail to interview key eyewitnesses, including those on the ground in Benghazi who fought attempting to save their fellow Americans, men like Kris Paronto.
Gowdy then took a moment to say that he wanted people, specifically Mrs. Clinton to understand that the hearing was not about her.
"Let me assure you it [the hearing] is not," he said. "And let me assure you why it is not."
"This investigation is about four people who were killed representing our country on foreign soil," Gowdy said. "It is about what happened before, during and after the attacks that killed them. It is about what this country owes to those who risk their lives to serve it, and it is about the fundamental obligation of government to tell the truth always to the people that it purports to represent."
However, it wasn't just congressional investigations that were involved. One government official claims that it was Clinton herself that spearheaded the review of the Benghazi attacks. Not only that, but we know that Mrs. Clinton broke the law with her private email server, Benghazi documents were scrubbed in the basement of the State Department and that her State Department even shredded documents related to Benghazi, and finally her chief deputy is intimately tied with the Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamic group that has the destruction of the united States as its documented goal.
Mrs. Clinton has lied from the beginning, going along with the rest of the Obama administration and known liar Susan Rice's claims that a YouTube video was the spark that set off the attacks, knowing full well that was not the case. She even spent $70,000 of taxpayer money to air a personal apology to the people of Pakistan for the video. In fact, we have discovered that the video producer was not only not a Coptic Christian as we were told, but rather a Muslim and also tied to Eric Holder's Justice Department. We know the video was irrelevant according to testimony and we know that the firm that helped hatch the Obamacare website was also tied to the video. And Clinton was not the only one at the center of the Benghazi video lie. It goes all the way to the White House.
Gowdy told Clinton in 2013, "You can't lie to Congress whether you're sworn in or not." Apparently she can, has and is getting away with it because all this will come to an abrupt end come the 2016 elections. Mark my words, because this is the game that is being played, and the issue of the YouTube video should be the evidence to prove my point.
So, when Trey Gowdy says that he expects known liars to tell him the truth and tell the truth the American people, I guess I'm going to be a bit cynical. Liars do what they do. They lie. Mrs. Clinton has a long line of lies to keep up with. I'm not expecting any truth to come from her lips. Why should Mr. Gowdy?Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
