This entire 2020 democratic debacle has been disheartening for the progressive side of the American politicly aisle.
The embarrassment began when it became clear that the party was ready and willing to trot well over twenty different candidates out into the race – a move that not only diluted the message of the democratic party, but also allowed for the nearly two-dozen candidates to completely cannibalize one another via social media and televised debates.
Now, even their supposed front-runners are finding themselves struggling to garner attention for themselves.
The Eagle-Tribune, a local Massachusettsnewspaper, reported the former vice president’s campaign only enticed “about 30 supporters” to attend an event held in Manchester, New Hampshire at the same time Trump was hosting his rally in the state.
“We are here because we are standing up to hate just down the road,” Biden’s New Hampshire organizing director told the handful of people that turned up for the event. “This is our moment, our chance. We need to talk to people now about what [Joe Biden] can do.”
This is far from the first time that a 2020 democratic candidate has been on the receiving end of an embarrassing campaign slip-up, however.
Beto O’Rourke – once the darling of the progressive youth crowd – has been forced to twice reinvent his campaign after failing to garner any more than approximately 3% of polling. His latest reboot has the Texan playing the role of the gritty, angry resistance thorn in President Trump’s side – a move that has yet to garner any boost in support for O’Rourke.
