Thousands Flock to Texas Free Speech Rally to Tell Truth About Islam

We told you last week about a rally scheduled for this past Saturday in Garland, Texas to protest an Islamic conference on blasphemy against Muhammad. This rally came in the face of the Obama administration’s warning that it would fight against the free speech of Americans to speak the truth about Islam. Well, as they say, don’t mess with Texas… or Americans! Thousands of red-blooded Americans came to protest against attempts to silence lawful free speech against Islam.

“Texas was amazing,” said Pamela Geller, author of Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance. Geller’s organization, American Freedom Defense Initiative, set up the rally. “Our protest at the Avenge the Prophet conference drew thousands of patriots stood for freedom against oppression, subjugation and jihad.”

“I am overwhelmed by the turnout,” Geller told Breitbart Texas. “There are thousands of people here standing in defense of free speech.”

Breitbart reported:

Pamela Geller told a crowd of nearly one thousand protestors that “we’re living in an age where evil is good, and good is evil.” Her remarks came during a free speech rally staged to protest the “Follow the Prophet” assembly underway in a Garland Independent School District convention center.

She cautioned the audience to be careful with the mainstream media covering the event and the protest. “This is theater,” Geller said, “and the media is the director. They’re coming here to film a narrative. They’re coming here to make you look bad.”

Geller encouraged the group to speak their mind but to do so in a way that brought credit to the movement. “Never give them what they’re looking for,” she explained. “They want you to say something wrong. They want you to have a bad sign. Because that becomes the front page.”

She instructed the crowd on how to best define their role. “You have a role here,” she stated. “Your role is an educator. Your message is beautiful. So please, be beautiful. Each of you are beautiful. Act beautiful and be righteous.”

“Make the cause proud,” Geller challenged the group.

“We’re here to stand up for the American way of life from a faction of people who are trying to destroy us,” said one man in attendance.

Geller, speaking boldly, gave a vision to the people that they are the soldiers in the battle for the heart and soul of America and encouraged them to use all the tools at their disposal (social media like Facebook and Twitter) to speak the truth.

Pamela also led the patriots in a rendition of “God Bless America.”

“The media can smear us and the President can stand with them,” Geller told Breitbart. “We the people are not having it. If there is any proof of that, it’s today. We dwarfed them.”

Prior to the rally, Geller said the people would “will stand for the freedom of speech against all attempts, violent and stealthy, to impose Islamic blasphemy laws on Americans and stifle criticism of Muhammad and Islam.”

NBC Dallas reported that the “Stand with the Prophet” conference “bills itself as a fundraiser to build a center dedicated to teaching Muslims how to combat negative depictions of their faith.”

In essence, this was a claim that their purpose was to eradicate so-called “Islamophobia.”

However, Jihad Watch founder and author Robert Spencer
said the real point of the conference is “dedicated to eradicating any honest discussion of how Islamic jihadists use the text and teachings of Islam to justify terror and hatred.”

“They have too long controlled the discourse and shut down any honest examination of the motives and goals of terrorists by crying ‘Islamophobia,” added Spencer.
