Repeal the Third Amendment: Californians Sign Petition to Allow US Troops Take Over Their Homes

“No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.” –Third Amendment, The Bill of Rights

Once again, Mark Dice asks Californians to sign a ridiculous petition. This time, he’s asking them to sign a petition to repeal the Third Amendment to the US Constitution. In case there are those who run across this article and you are as clueless as those in the video, the Third Amendment is to protect you from US troops commandeering your home and holing up in it.

Dice managed to get several signatures on his petition.

“We want to repeal the Third Amendment to keep the housing prices down for the military folks… just support Obama and support the troops.” Dice told one man that passed, by who then eagerly signed his name.

He told another man, “These military folks are clean and orderly people, so they won’t dirty up your house too much whilst we eliminate the Third Amendment and you can quarter them in your house if they just want to come in.”

“They (soldiers) can choose what house they want to live in, maybe in your house or anybody’s house really,” Dice told one female, who signed the petition. “That whole not quartering troops during peacetime, Third Amendment is just kinda unfair, right?” he asked the clueless woman.

“By repealing the Third Amendment we could increase their housing options,” Dice told a young couple, who signed his petition. “Maybe they could do some house sitting and things in a house that they choose.”

“We’re just trying to modernize the Bill Of Rights,” Dice added. Sadly, this couple laughed in agreement with Dice.

Two young women even agreed with Dice as they signed his fake petition that troops had the right to come in and live in their dwelling forever, if they wanted.

“They should be able to come into your house and they can quarter there forever if they want to.” Dice said.

“Oh yeah definitely,” said one woman, and the other added, “I agree.”

The Third Amendment is an important one. As our own Tom Wise pointed out, it’s actually a useful amendment to use when arguing for the Second Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms.

James Madison introduced it as part of the Bill of Rights in 1789. It was a direct response to British troops being quartered in the Colonists’ homes. The Amendment was adopted on March 1, 1792.

Dice has had Californians sign various petitions that are almost unbelievable. His petitions have included support of Nazi-Style Police State, putting birth control in the water supply, releasing all illegal aliens from prison and granting them free US citizenship, granting Barack Obama immunity of all the crimes he commits in office.

He also got Californians to sign a petition for Obama to repeal the entire Bill of Rights and has been getting signatures for each of the Amendments in the Bill of Rights, including the FirstSecond, Third, Fourth ,FifthSixth and Seventh Amendments
