A few days ago, an article at Freedom Outpost reported on Army and Marine Corps generals contending that women should be required to register for the draft as feminists remain silent. This new request by the military generals goes in contrast with their opposition to women in combat positions, which the Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter maintained women should be in combat positions without altering any standards. Many Christians in conservative circles disagree with women in combat roles and in selective service registration as violating God's intended role for women.
While potential presidential candidates Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R), and Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) support the draft for women, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has come out against selective service registration for women. On Sunday in New Hampshire, Cruz stated "it is nuts" to make women register for the draft since they could be called into service in a national emergency.
"It was striking that three different people on that stage came out in support of drafting women into combat in the military," Cruz said. "I didn't have an opportunity to respond to that particular question, but I have to admit as I was sitting there listening to that conversation, my reaction was, 'Are you guys nuts?'"
Cruz assured the audience at the town hall that he would not force women to register for a potential draft.
"Listen, we have had enough with political correctness, especially in the military. Political correctness is dangerous. And the idea that we would draft our daughters to forcibly bring them into the military and put them in close combat, I think is wrong. It is immoral and if I'm president we ain't doing it."
"The idea that their government would forcibly put them in a foxhole with a 220-pound [enemy] psychopath trying to kill them doesn't make any sense at all," he said.
While I continue to maintain that Sen. Ted Cruz is ineligible to hold the office of president because he cannot meet the natural born citizen requirement according to the original intent of the Constitution, I can agree with Sen. Cruz on this issue. It is dangerous to give to political correctness in drafting women since it is wrong and immoral to draft women and place them in combat positions. The physical differences between men and women would make it difficult for women to face an enemy that outmatches them in musculature, strength, and physical capabilities.
Feminists who have fought for "equality" have remained silent on the issue because these women like to "pick and choose" when it comes to equality -- they fight for equality only to a point then back away from issues that imbed true equality to men.
According to the Daily Caller:
The discussion of whether women should have to sign up for Selective Service erupted last week after a Senate Committee on Armed Services hearing, in which two top generals said they supported women in the draft, given that combat roles have now opened up to all genders. Following the remarks of Army Gen. Mark Milley and Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller, two GOP lawmakers, Reps. Duncan Hunter
and Ryan Zinke
, introduced legislation that would require women to sign up for the draft.
Hunter, a Marine Corps veteran, said although he introduced the legislation, it's so noxious to him personally that he may even vote against it. For Hunter, the point of the bill is to illustrate that an equal draft is an inevitable consequence of equal access to all combat roles. If an equal draft is absurd, then so is opening up all combat positions to women.
The draft has not been in place since the Vietnam War.
Hunter introduced a bill that is so noxious to him personally he would vote against it in order to prove the point that equal draft logically follows the equal access of women to all combat roles. It is absolutely ludicrous to open combat roles to women as well as initiate a selective service registration for females. Despite what two top general contend, it is an absolute crime for the government to use our men in the military for frivolous "skirmishes, actions, and conflicts" as the whim of presidents. Now, these so-called "honorable" military leaders want to use our daughters, nieces, mothers, wives, cousins, granddaughters and daughter-in-laws as additional fodder for the entertainment in toppling other nations' governments that one man finds distasteful.
If nothing else, it is a way for government to reduce the population of the united States in the future through risking young women of childbearing age along with the continued destruction of our men.
Sen. Cruz hit the nail on the head when declaring this as a political correctness stunt and an immoral action. This is what comes from a nation that has almost removed God from the public square and replaced His Divinity with the false idolatry of "divinity of man." It is also what happens when the Christian community "hunkers down to ride out the change" occurring in the nation.
Whether looking at the comments section from Breitbart or The Daily Caller, many are not on board with Cruz for various reasons and support the drafting of women and placement of females in all combat rolls. Many support all of this because of the feminist movement and the untiring drive to equality while figuratively castrating, emasculating and intimidating men. Who can blame them for pointing out that the chickens have come home to roost in the feminist henhouse.
Some claimed Cruz lost credibility with the military because of dual citizenship. One claimed Cruz is "saying whatever it takes to get elected." This is the problem with all politicians -- saying whatever needs to be said depending on the voter base being addressed. However, with this issue, Cruz, like him or not, pandering to voters or not, is spot on from a biblical perspective, as well as a moral one. In fact, he is the only candidate so far addressing this important issue affecting women voters. While feminists talk the talk on equality, they do not "walk the walk" when it comes down to brass tacks because they are not making the choice. It will be interesting to see where the votes stack up among women when it comes to this issue.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
