The Dark Night shooter of Aurora, Colorado James Holmes has apparently found a way to justify the killing of twelve people and wounding fifty-eight in 2012. He has allegedly turned to Islam, claims to believe he is on a personal jihad and that his victims were infidels.
According to the Daily Mail:
James Holmes, the gunman behind the Dark Knight massacre in Colorado last July, has reportedly turned Muslim and prays five times a day.
The killer showed off a lengthy, thick beard during a court appearance earlier this month, and a prison source has claimed it is a symbol of his new-found faith.
The source said Holmes has turned to Islam as a way of justifying his horrific murder spree in an Aurora, Colorado cinema on July 20 which left 12 people dead and 58 people wounded.
A prison source told the National Enquirer, "He has brainwashed himself into believing he was on his own personal jihad and that his victims were infidels."
Not only is he praying five times a day, but is sticking to a strict Muslim diet and spends most of his time studying the Quran the source said.
The source said this has upset inmates that are Muslim. "None of them condone forms of terrorism or extremism," the source added. "And they don't want their religion to be connected to that awful shooting." Apparently they are not studying the Quran and the Hadiths enough to make that claim.
James Holmes has previously showed up in court with orange hair and the claim was that he was portraying the Joker from the Batman series. When he appeared earlier this month, he was sporting a thick, bushy beard, very similar to Nidal Hasan, the Ft. Hood shooter, and thick unkempt dark brown hair.
Holmes is charged with 166 counts, mostly murder and attempted murder in the Aurora shooting.
Many theories abound about what actually took place and there are several questions abounding as to why there were two gas masks and no video released. Holmes' attorneys have repeatedly raised questions about his mental condition. However, it doesn't really matter. He is being judged on actions, not mental condition, or at least that is how it should be.
His apparent conversion to Islam will definitely bring more questions into play.
His trial is set for August 5, 2013.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
