Joe Biden and his campaign team are desperate to take the attention off of former staffer Tara Reade and her increasingly credible accusations of sexual assault against the 2020 candidate, and they are doing so with reckless abandon.
Well, to be fair, almost anything that includes putting Joe Biden in front of a live audience has been a bit reckless as of late, as the septuagenarian presumptive democratic nominee has been prone to gaffes, mistruths, and temper tantrums in recent weeks.
Now, in an attempt to muster at least some sort of offensive against Donald Trump, Biden has attempted to use one of the incumbent President’s oldest tricks in order to land a blow, but it’s backfiring spectacularly.
Biden revealed the nickname Monday while speaking to the Asian American and Pacific Islanders Victory Fund, remarking, “Trump is out there tweeting again this morning. I call him ‘President Tweety.’”
The ex-VP made the comment when talking about what he thought the president should be focused on as opposed to spending his time on Twitter.
Speaking about Trump’s vocal desire to reopen the country, Biden asked, “How are we supposed to do that if you’re sitting on the money small businesses need? Stop tweeting about it, get the money out to Main Street.”
Twitter was quick to mock Biden’s transparent deflection.
People not named Trump should really stop playing the nickname game. No one seems very good at it and it’s embarrassing. https://t.co/PLXehqlHeI

Biden is hot garbage at giving nicknames https://t.co/7shcmp1mZy

Biden's nickname for Trump of "Tweety" isn't as bad as some say, although the big problem is that Tweety Bird always wins, despite Sylvester the Cat's best efforts. https://t.co/hknPoTqs1Q

"President Tweety" is so stupid. The Biden campaign is cartoonishly bad
And the worst part is they probably workshopped this through several PR companies with focus groups, and this was the best they could come up with. Pitifulhttps://t.co/KVqb0XwjiL
