Rumors of Nikki Haley Replacing Mike Pence Emerge Ahead of 2020 Election

As we enter the silly season of electoral politics here in America, anything seems possible.  Rumors swirl, allegiances break, and We The People are left to make sense of it all.  2020 will be no exception, especially as the Democrats continue to falter and flail and add candidates at will.

The media will surely tell us that this is the most important election of our lives – it always is, after all – and they will employ all manner of hype-inducing tactic to pipe the drama into our homes.  This brings them ratings and revenue, and we must constantly remind ourselves to view these tactics through the lens of capitalism in order to remain sane.

One of the latest bizarre rumors regarding the coming election directly involves the White House, and could shake up the 2020 race in nearly unprecedented ways.

Steve Schmidt, John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign manager, during Tuesday’s “Morning Joe” on MSNBC predicted former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley could be on President Donald Trump’s ticket for reelection in 2020.

Schmidt said Haley is “clearly angling for the job” with her new book “With All Due Respect,” adding Trump “has an enormous problem with women” that would be solved by the former South Carolina governor being his running mate.

“It’s about currying favor. She wants to be vice president. She wants to be vice president on the Republican ticket in 2020,” Schmidt stated. “I think there’s an overwhelming chance that Trump will dump Pence to put Nikki Haley on the ticket.”

There has been no official indication of intent by Haley, making these rumors nothing more than hearsay at this point.

Kellyanne Conway was the first female campaign manger to ever win a presidential election.  Could Trump also bring us the first female VP?
