Over the course of the last three years, few figures in the Washington Swamp have become as ubiquitous with controversy as James Comey.
The now-disgraced former head of the FBI has been front and center in a number of American political travesties, beginning with his unbelievable protection of Hillary Clinton during the fallout of her State Department email scandal.
His latest controversy comes after the FBI found Comey to be culpable in a number of anti-Trump leaks from within the Bureau itself. Suspiciously for everyone but Comey, the Inspector General has declined to press charges against the former spook, adding yet another layer of seeming invincibility to the Comey mythology.
That hasn’t sat well with former NYC Mayor and Trump legal counsel Rudy Giuliani.
Rudy Giuliani weighed in on the explosive DOJ Inspector General Report on former FBI Director James Comey’s handling of the Russia probe and promised that “prosecutions will happen,” despite the Justice Department’s decision to refrain from prosecuting Comey.
Giuliani said the report proves that Comey “leaked and lied,” adding that it confirms that there was a concerted effort to remove President Trump based on a “contrived, false charge.”
“With what I know about Ukraine and elsewhere, I am sure that this happened and went higher and lower than Comey. Prosecutions will happen,” Giuliani declared
Comey has only made matters worse for himself when it comes to the public perception of his nefarious nuances by demanding an apology after charges were not brought in the leaking scandal – despite the findings of wrongdoing by the IG.
