The showdown on Capitol Hill is reaching wild new heights this week as the Democratic “resistance” to Donald Trump’s presidency believe that they have found a new foothold in their attempts to nullify the 2016 election.
This latest attack on the Oval Office comes after a pair of whistleblower complaints have emerged from within the machinations of the federal government, the first of which prompted Nancy Pelosi to announce the beginning of a “formal impeachment inquiry” – a somewhat vague escalation of tactics.
Now, as President Trump continues to exude an air of defiance against these ever-evolving accusations, there is real concern among the desperate Democrats that the Commander in Chief will evade punishment, as he did during the RussiaGate conspiracy investigation.
That’s why one of the more radical members of the House is now lobbing threats of arrest in the direction of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib said Democratic lawmakers are exploring how to arrest White House officials who do not comply with congressional subpoenas.
Tlaib, D-Mich., told Detroit constituents at her “Congress, Coffee, and Conversation” event on Tuesday that lawmakers are focused on how best to take cabinet members into custody. “This is the first time we’ve ever had a situation like this,” she said. “So they’re trying to figure out, no joke, is it the D.C. police that goes and gets them? We don’t know. Where do we hold them?”
An America Rising PAC tracker caught Tlaib on video speculating what could happen to Trump administration officials held in contempt of Congress. The congresswoman pointed to Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross and Attorney General William Barr, who were both held in criminal contempt of Congress for defying congressional subpoenas.
President Trump has consistently and repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in the matter, insisting that his attempts to “drain the swamp” of corruption are precisely what the American people elected him to do.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
