As the liberal overlords of social media continues to raze the conservative online community, President Trump is lashing out against the incessant censorship facing conservatives in 2019.
While the issue has been at the forefront of the fight for free speech online, this week has seen a massive shift in the publicity of the issue. Undercover journalists with Project Veritas released a video on Monday that showed a Google executive openly speaking of using the power of the search engine, (and its subsidiary YouTube), to “prevent” another “Trump situation” from occurring in 2020.
While this may sound like election meddling to you and I, the folks at Google continue to maintain that their status as a “private” organization allows them implement a sort of “dress code” for free speech.
Now, rightfully furious about the revelation, President Trump and the White House are getting set to take action.
The White House will host “digital leaders” for a meeting next month amid President Donald Trump’s escalating attacks on Google, Facebook and Twitter.
The Social Media Summit set for July 11 will focus on the “opportunities and challenges of today’s online environment,” White House spokesperson Judd Deere said.
Deere did not answer questions about who is invited to the event.
This isn’t the only action being taken by the Commander in Chief.
The announcement came the same day Trump said the federal government should file lawsuits against some of the tech giants. The president has accused Google, Facebook and Twitter of being biased against him and other conservatives — a charge the companies have repeatedly denied.
“Look, we should be suing Google and Facebook and all that, which, perhaps we will,” Trump said during a phone interview on Fox Business.
Just today, Twitter fortified their own anti-Trump directives with a new tweet-labeling scheme that will allow the platform to place “warning” labels on the missives of world leaders with whom they disagree.
