On February 4, 2013, the director of homeland security, Janet Napolitano stood on the Mexican border between San Diego and Tijuana and declared, “I believe the border is secure.”
That was only a little more than a year ago.
Ah, those were the days. We were more innocent and trusting back then. Way back then, all of 496 days ago, reporters like Elizabeth Dwoskin of Bloomberg BusinessWeek could write: “This time, those looking to revive concerns about a lawless border must contend with a far different set of facts: the line between Mexico and the U.S. is now more secure than it’s been in decades. Obama has poured money and resources into border security. In his first term, he spent $73 billion on immigration.”
The average cost of erecting the border wall/fence is $3.9 million per mile. The southern border is 1933 miles long. 1933 X $3.9 million is… about $7.6 billion. That’s a little more than 10% of the money Obama “poured” into “immigration.” We could easily afford to build a fence, laced with gold, if that is what the politicians wanted to do, which of course we know, they don’t.
Now, because the lack of will and courage from politicians on both sides of the aisle, here we are, being overrun by illegals.
Our Mexican border is in absolute chaos – which is exactly what Obama wants. Dictators, or aspiring dictators, love chaos, for from chaos comes strife and desperation, and in desperate times, people gravitate towards slick talking despots who offer solutions.
Meanwhile, Madame Pelosi has the gall to say regarding the “humanitarian crisis” that, “We must ensure our laws are fully enforced, so that due process is provided to unaccompanied children and the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children is protected. We must also work to address the root causes of the problem.”
How does one even respond to someone so stupid or devoid of any moral center, or both? Actually, I don’t think Pelosi is stupid. I’m sure she knows she can spew any nonsense she likes without fear of the media calling her on it. So let’s just agree that she is amoral.
I wonder if a reporter might ask Pelosi or Obama or anyone, just who authored the “cheat sheet” that has been popping up at various border crossings. Could it have been the same government officials that advertised, six months ago, for vendors capable of caring for and transporting 65,000 illegal kids, ranging from infant to 17 years old?
This is planned, orchestrated lawlessness. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mexican military helicopter that crossed our border just the other day and shot at our border agents was paid to do so by someone in our Homeland Security Agency.
Ridiculous you say? Hyperbole you say? Well, it’s not any more absurd than what I’ve already described.
So let’s recap. About six months ago the Obama people started soliciting for help in escorting 65,000 illegal kids (pretty specific number). Shortly after, news outlets in Central America began encouraging parents to, “Go to America with your child. You won’t be turned away.” And so they did and do.
“Cheat sheets” are found at the border instructing illegals on how to answer border agents’ questions. No one is allowed to photograph or otherwise document the conditions these poor children must endure.
The administration then begins dispersing them throughout the United States, housing them in various military bases. Others are just released at their own recognizance, with a promise to appear in court.
So why are they doing this – really? What is the endgame? Who’s in on it? Is it just the White House, who knows Democrats in Congress will just blindly follow? Is it just to legalize more Democrat voters or is it more, or is this just part of the master plan that includes gun confiscation, property confiscation, spying, targeting, et al?
These used to be questions only asked by the tinfoil hat crowd. Now, it seems nothing is out of bounds.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
