Petraeus Agrees To Testify On Benghazi

As speculation abounded whether or not the former Central Intelligence Agency Director David Petraeus would testify on the September 11 Benghazi terrorist attacks, word now is that he will, in fact, testify before a congressional select committee.

Acting CIA director Michael Morell is scheduled to testify on Thursday concerning the attack.

After Petraeus’ resignation, lawmakers complained that the scandal was no reason they shouldn’t hear from the man at the helm of the CIA when CIA operatives came under attack alongside State Department employees in Benghazi last month.

The logistics of Petraeus’ appearance are still being worked out. But a source close to Petraeus said the former four-star general has contacted the CIA, as well as committees in both the House and Senate, to offer his testimony as the former CIA director.

Fox News has learned he was invited to speak off-site to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Friday about his Libya report.
The House side is still being worked out.

While Senator John McCain questions the credibility of the administration saying, “Let me be clear: there is no credibility among most of us concerning the administration and the numerous controversies and contradictions that have been involved in their handling of this issue.” This comes from a man who demonstrates that his claim to “conservatism” is not exactly up to par with his actions. However, on the issue of the Obama administration’s credibility, we are certainly in agreement.

Representative Peter “The President’s kill list is Constitutional” King said, “”It’s impossible to believe that he thought he was giving … honest testimony,” indicating that he believes that Petraeus’ statements to Congress were possibly perjurious.

McCain was also joined by Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) in calling for a Senate committee to investigate Benghazi. However, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he wouldn’t support such an effort. Anyone surprised?

With all these agencies and government investigations, you would think by now, the whole truth had been told and known, but apparently not and yet we are told that if we continue to increase the size and scope of government things will get better, healthcare will become cheaper, taxes will be lower, we’ll all get along and sing ‘kumbaya,’ jobs will magically appear, the economy will thrive, and deficits will vanish. This “investigation” demonstrates that quite the opposite will happen in all those areas, just as it is highly likely that we will not get to the bottom of Benghazi, though I think most of us have a pretty good idea of what took place now.
