Pelosi delivers dueling, hypocritical statements on impeachment as democratic divide deepens

The democratic party is undoubtedly eating itself alive in 2019, thanks to the chasm created by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Madame Speaker is at odds with both her constituents and her DC-based underlings over how to approach the impeachment of President Donald Trump.  After the release of the Mueller report, the democrats became entirely irate, believing that the contents of the 400+ page report amount to “high crimes and misdemeanors”, particularly in the case of volume II’s investigation into the possibility that Trump obstructed justice.

As the party rages below her, Pelosi has been reluctant to call for impeachment, however, citing the political ramifications of a failed bid come 2020.

This has caused Pelosi to utter an unending stream of bizarre, hyperbolic statements on the subject that are more often than not hypocritical.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Wednesday morning dismissed the idea of censuring President Donald Trump, arguing instead that launching an impeachment inquiry would be the more appropriate course of action — if the proceedings are justified.

“No. I think censure is just a way out,” Pelosi replied when asked during a Christian Science Monitor event if she would support censuring the president. “If you want to go, you have to go. In other words, if the goods are there, you must impeach.”

Political observers will be quick to point out that Madame Speaker herself has, on at least one occasion, admitted her belief that impeachable offenses have occurred – yet she still remains steadfast in her anti-impeachment stance.

Furthermore, as democratic constituents continue to demand such action, Pelosi’s willful ignorance of their pleas could very well constitute a dereliction of her duties as a public servant.
