GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan addressed a crowd on Monday at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. While standing in the same state, just a couple of hundred miles from where the Democrat National Convention is to take place, Ryan declared that America is no better off, and in many ways worse off, than it was when President Barack Obama came to office.
In speaking to crowd of thousands in a swing state, he took advantage of the event and hammered Obama on his with rhetoric of his record:
We know that your governor’s over there, and your lieutenant governor–and we also know that President Obama’s over there. And President Obama’s going to be giving a big speech. And there are going to be lots of speeches–a lot of words. Let me quote President Obama four years ago: “If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.” Ladies and gentlemen, that is exactly what Barack Obama is doing today. You see, the President has no record to run on. In fact, every president since the Great Depression who asked Americans to send them into a second term could say that you were better off today than you were four years ago. Except for Jimmy Carter and for President Barack Obama.
In effect, Ryan is throwing down the gauntlet here and demanding that Obama give an answer for why people are not better off then they were four years ago.
As Ryan issued his challenge to Obama, some believe Obama will have to respond to that challenge. We already know what his answer will be. It is the same answer that Governor Martin O’Malley gave and that is in effect the same answer Obama has been giving all along, “It’s Bush’s fault.” Mark my words. He will have no other answer than to place blame anywhere he can except where the buck is supposed to stop.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com on Instagram.
