Every time I log on to my computer and visit some “patriotic” website, I’ve noticed that they all have the same things in common – Every single one of them want me to either pay to join or donate money to them. While I do feel that there are some worthwhile patriot/conservative organizations out there, they all have two things in common (other than the obvious)
- They all say that they have the best solution for putting America back on track;
- They always need more money to accomplish their mission to set things right in America.
If that is the case, then what am I paying the salaries of those idiots in our nation’s capital for? Those guys are supposed to be working for us, aren’t they? Why should I give money to tax-free organizations to “make” our elected officials do their damn job? I was under the impression that if a politician didn’t do the job they were elected to do, we didn’t vote for them anymore and sent their sorry butts packing.
A perfect example of this is Harry Reid. He has locked-down the Senate and N-O-T-H-I-N-G is getting done. Why on earth does Reid still have a job? Are the people who put him there really that impressed with his job performance? I’d really like to ask the people of Nevada that question.
Nancy Pelosi is another example of a politician who is using her position in congress to make herself and her husband incredibly wealthy, but isn’t doing crap to make this country a better place. Hells-bells…she doesn’t even read what she signs!
I don’t want to forget Dianne Feinstein. She is doing the exact same thing as Pelosi, using her position as a U.S. Senator only to increase her wealth and that of her husband’s. As I see it, we have one group in DC putting it to the taxpayers, spending our tax dollars on God knows what, and on the other side of the aisle, we have all these “patriotic” organizations, who want money to make the people we already pay a salary to do their damn jobs.
That’s just crazy making and not financially feasible. I don’t know about the rest of you, but because of the “Not-So-Affordable Care Act,” even though we are making more money, we’re bringing home less each month. Couple that, with gasoline being $3.79 a gallon and skyrocketing food prices and shoot, my wife and I didn’t even get to go to a movie for our 20th wedding anniversary this past December.
Every time I turn around some patriotic tax-free group wants me to give them money? I don’t think so. I will never let a fellow human being go hungry and if they need warm clothing because of the cold, I always manage to find an extra jacket or sweater to give them, but pay some group to make the people I already pay do the job they were elected to do…uh uh!
I’ll let you all in on a little secret. None of the contributors who write all these articles for Freedom Outpost, and many other websites like it, get paid a single cent. We do it because it’s the right thing to do. We expose corruption, waste and when some fat-cat politician violates his (or her) oath of office, we point a finger at them and say “Shame on you!”
So please excuse me if I don’t have any extra money to spare when some group holds out their hand and says that by giving a donation I’ll be helping the country. I’m already helping the country. I may not be in uniform anymore, but I give voice to the common man…because I am the common man.
You really want to help the country? Take $10.00 out of your next paycheck and buy food with it and take it to your nearest food bank and drop it off. You can also help the country by getting rid of the politicians who really suck at their job by not voting for them anymore!
I am NOT saying don’t contribute to an organization you might deem worthy. If you have the extra money to give to a worthwhile cause you really believe in, then by all means do so! As for my family, we just don’t have any extra cash to spare right now.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
