Monday on Fox News' Hannity, former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin chided Democrats who "still have that addiction to the hope-ium" that Barack Obama peddled to them in 2008. She said they needed their eyes opened.
“Some of us had [Obama] pegged four years ago. Remember when he promised to fundamentally transform America? We knew right then during the campaign that we were in for a world of hurt under Obama’s failed liberal socialist policies that he would really ram down our throats,” Palin said. “So nothing comes as a surprise to me when I hear the tone that President Obama is taking in his campaign.”
When asked her thoughts on how Obama could continue to have supporters after his failed policies of the past four years, Palin responded,

“These people who still have that addiction to the hope-ium that he had promised, that hope-y, change-y stuff that was really bogus four years ago. well they have about 71 days to open up their eyes and realize the path that he has put us on, a path toward insolvency, a path toward fewer freedoms and, really, orchestrated chaos and bankruptcy.”
Well yeah I agree with her. The problem is that many of these people have gotten on the government dole. They have nowhere else to go and as long as they have food, a place to live and a tax payer provided cell phone they think life is just grand. Many of these same people were snowed in 2008 by Obama when anyone who took time to actually look into the historical record of Obama knew exactly what he was and is and what his plans for America were.
The same is true in every election. Any candidate running for the highest office in the land usually has a voting record or if they are a governor, they have a record as well. The American people would do well to investigate the records of any man that attempts to run for the office of president and hold them to the highest standard and scrutiny. We aren't giving these guys a job at Wal-Mart, we're electing them to represent us in the highest office in the land.
Palin is right though, there are too many who are dependent upon hope-ium and don't want to change and so their vote will go for the guy that offers them the most goodies, rather than a man of integrity who will fill the job description of upholding and defending the Constitution.
