It was only a matter of time until Joe Biden began receiving a bit of the Obama Bump for the 2020 race.
Early in his candidacy, Biden told a tale that many believed was exaggerated at best, a farce at worst. The former Vice President was insisting that he had asked his White House boss, former President Barack Obama, not to endorse him for President. Instead, Biden wanted to test the waters of his popularity without the likely boost that an Obama push would provide.
The American people, also having heard that Obama had warned Biden that he “didn’t have to do this”, (in regard to running for President), had a hard time believing that Biden was the one who had to shut down the Obama endorsement train.
Now, without quite endorsing Biden aloud, Number 44 has at the very least given some subtle disses to some of Biden’s more radical opponents.
Former President Barack Obama on Friday warned 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls to pay attention to what voters actually think — warning that most of them don’t want to “tear down the system.”
“The average American doesn’t think we have to completely tear down the system and remake it. And I think it’s important for us not to lose sight of that,” Obama said.
“There are a lot of persuadable voters and there are a lot of Democrats out there who just want to see things make sense. They just don’t want to see crazy stuff,” he said. “They want to see things a little more fair, they want to see things a little more just. And how we approach that I think will be important.”
Biden has been experiencing an ugly lag in his polling numbers in recent weeks, thanks in no small part to the renewed concerns about he and his son’s possibly corrupt business dealings in Ukraine.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
