Obama & House Prepare To Ram Gun Control Legislation Through Congress

Despite the overwhelming data from the federal government when it comes to guns and violent crime in the United States, the Obama administration is looking to capitalize on the recent mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. It seems people are hyper sensitive to the fact that children were killed. Don’t get me wrong, it is a great tragedy, but this same administration is not going after the serial murderers in abortion clinics with PhD’s who conspire with the mothers of the unborn to rip them limb from limb from the womb for $200 each. He doesn’t even provide fake tears for those children. Not wanting to let a crisis go to waste, the administration is looking to ram through legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives as the emotions are still high from the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Talking Points Memo reports,

The White House and gun control supporters are gearing up for a whirlwind month, with plans to pass reform legislation before outrage over the Sandy Hook massacre has a chance to fade. …

House Democrats are moving ahead with their own plans as well. On Friday, Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), chair of the newly created Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, announced the appointment of 12 vice chairs, including Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), the body’s leading voice on gun control. According to a Democratic aide, the group plans to release its recommendations in early February and is already organizing public hearings on the issue.

Obama has personally identified an assault weapons ban and limits on ammunition magazine size as top priorities. Other possible reforms could include background check requirements for purchases at gun shows, a loophole that’s helped create a huge market of off-record arms purchases.

Pro-gun groups have dominated Congress in recent years and, while lawmakers approved by the National Rifle Association have mostly kept their heads down in recent weeks, any legislation could face an difficult path to passage, or even a vote, especially in the Republican-led House.

Forget reasoning with the liberals and socialists in the Obama administration, the Senate and House. Facts just do not matter to these people. If facts mattered we would be talking about a ban on the American Medical Association, or automobiles or any number of things like fist and feet, but firearms wouldn’t even be in the top ten. They won’t even accept them when they come from the federal government or a local sheriff.

This is definitely one time where House Republicans must stand against any of the proposed legislation that was presented on the first day of the 113th Congress.

No doubt, the media will be in full swing to push the agenda, as they already have been.
