As a former practicing Registered Nurse (I ceased practicing last year), it never ceases to amaze me how many nurses will violate their oaths, ethics, morals, values and principles in order to satisfy the "company." Here's the case in point. Fox News reported that medical staff dealing with the current invasion of illegal immigrant children at the camp at Lackland have been told to keep their mouth shut or face arrest. Buried in that story was the fact that a nurse and counselor reported their superiors tried to cover up the extent of the illnesses.
If you are in the nursing profession, only a Registered Nurse can be put in a position of supervision as by nature of education received a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) are unqualified to hold a supervisory position. Most individuals do not know this. When the nurse who anonymously informed the reporter for Fox News of the violations referenced the charge nurse, the nurse was more than likely referring to a Registered Nurse (RN). In some cases, the supervisor of a nurse may not be another professional nurse but a bureaucrat who has no understanding of nursing or nurse practice laws, which can vary from state to state but generally follow a universal standard regarding negligence and malpractice.
However, Baptist Family and Children's Services (BFCS) spokesperson Krista Piferrer stated that "clinicians are being supervised by a federal field specialist from HHS's Office of Refugee Resettlement." There was no mention of the qualifications of this field specialist who is overseeing nurses, doctors and mental health counselors alike.

So, there are two issues being reported here: 1) the fact that charge nurses are encouraging nurses to omit reporting certain illnesses, in particular scabies and lice, that are highly contagious; 2) in order to work in these makeshift illegal immigrant camps, health care professionals are being stripped of their God-given individual rights by what they term the "Brown Shirts" and threatened with retaliation and punishment if they imparted any information regarding the makeshift camp.
By "encouraging" other nurses to omit certain illnesses that are prevalent among these illegal immigrant children, these charge nurses are basically endangering the public by violating an aspect of the Nightingale Pledge which is to "abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous" and encouraging a possible violation of nurse practice laws. These so-called "nurses" have sold out to the "company" line to keep a job; their sell-out endangers an entire population to pandemic illnesses while putting nurses at risk of losing their livelihood through state nursing board sanctions should it be discovered they were complicit. While the nurse speaking anonymously only named scabies and lice, one could imagine that other highly contagious diseases are not being reported, much less being screened against.
The former nurse told Fox News that these children who had highly contagious infections had been transported on domestic planes and charter buses according to their files. This places an entire American public at risk of pandemic infections of scabies, measles, lice, skin infections, strep throat and drug resistant TB. This is a potential risk to unsuspecting travelers at home and from abroad visiting our nations. It is not just America that is at risk, although the risk is higher for Americans; citizens of other nations are also at risk while visiting the United States.
A mental health counselor, also speaking on anonymity, claimed many children had presented with emotional and mental health issues with some children being suicidal. According to the counselor, camp officials refused to hospitalize the suicidal children and claimed one child was close to psychosis. Camp officials authorized these disturbed children to be sent to "a family in the United States." Interesting the counselor would say "a family" and not the "child's family." Where did this child go and to what family? How old was this child? Could this child have other mental health issues that could lead to homicide?
The counselor kept a journal of what was happening at the Lackland camp. Not surprisingly, federal agents called and "requested" the journal be handed over – the counselor refused.
Both the nurse and counselor quit and did not return to Lackland. Good for them!
Not being a doctor, I cannot speak to the conduct regarding their oath or practice in protecting the general population from pandemic illness. However, sound morals, values, and principles would dictate that medical doctors should disclose contagious illnesses that threaten the population despite being strong armed into silence.
According to Piferrer, "Every illness, whether it is a headache or something more serious, is recorded in a child's electronic medical record and posted on WebEOC – a real time, web-based platform that is visible to not only BFCS but the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services."
Well, that statement is supposed to make the public feel safer, but anyone who knows anything about electronic medical records and IT would know these records can be altered by anyone, including those who seek to conceal health problems. As someone who has worked medical IT and had experience with one federal healthcare software, I can, with all confidence, say it is terribly easy to alter those records either from the front door or the backdoor without leaving an audit trail of who did the altering. So, if a healthcare professional entered a specific contagious illness into the record, someone, other than the entrant, could technically remove that entry. Besides, those records are only as good as what is put into them. If healthcare workers are being told to omit contagious illnesses into the record up front, this statement by Piferrer is smoke and mirrors.
Piferrer stated the "Brown Shirts" are "incident management team personnel" who happen to wear tan shirts. However, those working at the camp termed them security forces that called themselves the "Brown Shirts." The anonymous whistleblowers stated these thugs confiscated their cellphones and other communication devices and fired those who were caught with communication devices.
They described the atmosphere as "submissive" and by stepping into the camp you "abided by their laws – the Brown Shirts laws." These workers claimed "everyone was paranoid" with the "children having more rights than the workers." They reported being "under orders" to keep silent about the camps or face arrest. Since when is it a crime in America to report the truth of what is happening in regards to government action, inaction, lawlessness, or criminality? It isn't; but, these goons with BFCS, under the guise of "incident management" or what some may term "risk management," are using Nazi tactics of fear, intimidation and retaliation in order to exact silence to place Americans at risk for pandemic illnesses. You can bet this is all at the behest of government.
Incident management or risk management, when it involves health care, revolves around the clinical and administrative tasks to identify, evaluate and reduce the risk of injury to patients, staff, visitors and risk of loss to the organization or facility. Incident management or risk management does not include the tactics used by the BFCS "Brown Shirts."
What gives BFCS and DHHS the right to threaten healthcare workers who are trying to do their job, which includes stemming pandemic illness? They do not have that right nor does any state health care practice act relieve someone of responsibility from accountability for "following orders" whether working under the federal government or not. Neither does following orders exclude one from responsibility to the oath they declared upon becoming a doctor or nurse.
I am appalled at the behavior of those doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals who are complicit in the government's agenda regarding the healthcare crisis created by the handling of this illegal immigrant invasion. As a graduate of a private, Christian nursing school, I am certainly grateful for the education in the science, art and religious aspects of nursing that was imparted to me. While other nurses may call me a "dinosaur" and behind the times, so be it. My nursing education, along with the values and principles instilled in me by my parents, has allowed me to develop a strength lacking in many nursing and health care professionals today.
Unlike the whistleblowers cited by Fox, there are still nurses, doctors and other professionals working in these camps "towing the company line." Why? Yes, jobs are scarce. But what price is being paid to keep a job? Can those working in these facilities look themselves in the mirror daily knowing they could be unleashing serious contagious illnesses that could lead to a pandemic in the United States? Evidently so or they would walk off the job. Hopefully, these workers have good personal, private malpractice and negligence insurance as they open themselves up to lawsuits for dereliction of duty and negligence. One can be certain they would be another group "thrown under the bus."
I'm sorry, but I do not understand these professionals following instructions they know are against practice laws as omission is negligence. I don't understand towing the company line when that line can endanger the health of the general public. There is no way that I could or would work under those conditions much less continue to work under those conditions as a professional. If someone higher up didn't like that, fine. Fire me, arrest me, do whatever it is you are going to do, but I would refuse to be silent and I would refuse to be anonymous. I would fight tooth and nail eliciting every weapon in the arsenal to protect the public, report misconduct and illegal activity, and disseminate information to the public. Personally, there's something to be said for "old school" paper records and documentation, as tampering with those can leave a definitive trail.
Unfortunately, nurses and health care workers like those who were interviewed by Fox News are becoming extinct, retiring or leaving the profession. What's left will be caring for you and me, the American public, under the law of Obamacare. Doesn't that instill confidence in the so called "health care professionals?"
Those operating under BFCS as the "Brown Shirts" are also complicit in exposing Americans to potential pandemics. One has to wonder how these thugs sleep at night. They must not have wives, children, or other family to worry about; or, if they do, they have been so severely brainwashed they believe that what they are doing is right. This group of Nazi crazed goons must be devoid of conscience, values, principles, morals and feeling – products of liberal progressivism and totalitarian Marxist thinking. But, this is what works for government as government has a tendency to weed out those who have values, principles, morals, feelings and a conscience.
To those who have braved to speak out against government travesty, God Bless you! Please know that there are Americans behind you who will stand up with you should you choose to divulge more.
To those who remain and would like to speak out – conquer your fear, find your courage and realize that the health care profession is not just a job, but a calling. You have a responsibility that sometimes includes not following orders you know to be wrong or negligent. Refuse to participate. While you may believe you are helping "innocents," you are also complicit in endangering the public.
To those who refuse and continue to be complicit in cover-up – you are being exposed to contagious illnesses that you could spread to your family and loved ones while you send contagious illegals breaking the law into the rest of the country to spread diseases. It must take an exceptional person to endanger them while claiming "love" for your family and loved ones. Hopefully, you have a good explanation for them should they contract an illness caused by your exposure.
To the "Brown Shirts" – what you sow, you will reap. Those you suppress are someone's loved ones. Remember that when your loved ones are suppressed, if you have loved ones or family. The rights you attempt to deny others today, may be the rights you want to defend for your loved ones and family tomorrow.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
