For years, there has been one standard defense for the sodomite. When faced with the condemnation of Scriptures, they would fall back on their birth. They would claim that their sexual preference was not up to them. “God made them gay; therefore He could not condemn them for being what He had made them to be.” Essentially, holding up the logical fallacy, “Is equals aught,” as a defense for their actions.
Now, there has been a study showing that this may not longer be an argument.
Christian News reports:
The report, Sexuality and Gender: Findings from the Biological, Psychological, and Social Sciences, was written by Dr. Lawrence Mayer and Dr. Paul McHugh and published in The New Atlantis.
It is good that these men are not connected to a Christian school, simply because the sodomites would claim that there was a bias. It is also good that there are over 200 peer-reviewed studies as a basis for their conclusions.
So, what exactly are their conclusions?
Christian News continues:
In their report, they criticize what they call the “common assumption that sexual desires, attractions, or longings reveal some innate and fixed feature of our biological or psychological constitution, a fixed sexual identity or orientation,” finding even the phrase “sexual orientation” to be ambiguous and without “widely accepted scientific definitions.”
“Furthermore, we may have some reasons to doubt the common assumption that in order to live happy and flourishing lives, we must somehow discover this innate fact about ourselves that we call sexuality or sexual orientation, and invariably express it through particular patterns of sexual behavior or a particular life trajectory,” Mayer and McHugh write.
This cuts at the heart of the sodomite arguments. The first, we discussed at the beginning of the article. The second is the thought that they must act out the way they do sexually in order to be healthy and happy.
They are saying that this has not been observed, and is a false proof that has no evidence from science.
