New California polling shows major trouble for Joe Biden, now in third

The 2020 democratic primary seemed all but wrapped up there for a while, with Joe Biden arriving on the scene like a meteor strike and taking the overall lead with authority.

This was despite several women having accused the former Vice President of inappropriate intimate contact – a controversy that certainly could have spelled disaster for the high-ranking democrat in this, the #MeToo era.

Instead, Biden soared to new heights as the democratic party believed that he was the only candidate with the ability to pry centrist midwestern votes away from the almighty Donald Trump come November of next year.

But now a long string of gaffes, untruths, and waffling on the legacy of President Barack Obama has caught up to the septuagenarian former Senator, and his lead is dwindling national.  In ultra-liberal California, Biden has even dropped as low as third place in polling among Golden State voters.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is continuing to rise in the polls, dominating the field in California with an eight-point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who overtook Joe Biden (D), according to a Capitol Weekly Tracking Poll released Monday.

The monthly tracking poll, conducted by Political Data Inc., surveyed 599 likely Democrat voters September 1-13, 2019, and found Warren in a commanding lead with 29 percent support. Sanders came in eight points behind with 21 percent support, causing Biden to fall to third with 18 percent support.

Once again, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) failed to crack into the top tier of candidates in her home state, garnering just 11 percent of the vote. Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) came in fifth place with seven percent support, followed by Andrew Yang (D) with four percent support, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) with two percent support, and Beto O’Rourke with two percent support.

The full poll was startling, so say the least.

Biden is also battling a new scandal – one involving this son Hunter’s infamous business dealings in The Ukraine – which has been at the forefront of Washington politics after a whistleblower alleged that President Trump pressured foreign leaders to investigate the situation.
