It seem as though the Democrats may have far too short a memory when it comes to this impeachment fiasco.
You see, during the House’s portion of the process, Intel Committee Chairman Adam Schiff made his mark, disallowing a great deal of pertinent testimony being requested by the Republicans and consummately tainting the entire debacle with his lopsided reading of the rules. This annoyed the GOP to no end, with many member still decrying his tactics to this day.
Now, as the Republican-controlled Senate stands ready to take up the mantle of impeachment, they have not forgotten Schiff’s work, and are pushing back with an equal and balanced fervor.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) dismissed Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) call to have four White House witnesses testify in the Senate’s likely impeachment trial, arguing that it’s the House’s “duty to investigate” and that the Senate will not volunteer its time for a “fishing expedition.”
