Mike Pence diverted flight mystery deepens after spokeswoman releases vague statement

The opioid crisis in the United States is deepening daily, as the Big Pharmaceutical industry continues to supply the masses with expensive, addictive synthetic chemicals with which our lives often become forever entangled.

Vice President Mike Pence understands this explicitly, and was on his way to New Hampshire to discuss the issue when a strange thing happened.

Reports that an “emergency” was forcing the VP back to Washington DC began simmering on Twitter in the late morning.

Then, in what we can only hope is a serious coincidence, people began connecting the plane “diversion” to an abrupt cancellation by a leader thousands of miles away.

The White House has responded by saying that there was no “emergency”, as previously reported, but that the Vice President was needed back in the White House for unspecified reasons.

The vagaries coming from the West Wing are frankly a bit spooky.

In another tweet, Farah said Pence never left Washington and there was no “emergency callback.”

The White House said Pence’s plane never left the ground in Washington.

And an administration official told reporters covering the White House that the reason was not related to Pence or Trump’s health or because of a national security matter.

As of this writing, no indication has been made as to why Pence’s abrupt cancellation took place, or about the necessity of his visit to the White House.
