Michelle Obama Ribs Olympian Gabby Douglas For Splurging on Egg McMuffin

Michelle Obama appeared on NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Gabby Douglas on Monday. Douglas proclaimed that her celebration moment was eating eating an Egg McMuffin, for which Obama quickly chided her.

“You trained your whole life, you win. How did you celebrate?” Leno asked.

“We didn’t have time to celebrate,” Douglas responded. “It was team finals and had to turn the page all-around finals and event finals after that. But, after the competition, I splurged on an Egg McMuffin at McDonald’s.”

Leno said “So an Egg McMuffin. Very good.” and Obama retorted “You’re setting me back, Gabby.”

Douglas then apologized to Mrs. Obama as if she needed to. Obama has taken the mantle of unofficial health nut czar in which she is attempting to curb childhood obesity. While she took a playful jab at Gabby for taking a moment to indulge an Egg McMuffin from McDonald’s is really unnecessary.

Personally, it would have been absolutely perfect had Gabby Douglas declared that she feasted on a Chick-Fil-A sandwich!
