“We didn’t create the chicken, just the chicken sandwich” has been the motto of the south-eastern based fast food company Chick-fil-a. The company was founded by S. Truett Cathy upon Christian principles and it is those principles which have been getting the company into tangles with liberals. Not only did they have a trio of perverted men dressed in drag going after them, but they also have taken a stand against the perversion of marriage by the homosexual community, which has led to many liberals in the political arena to decry the Georgia based chain.
Earlier in the week Chick-Fil-A’s president, Dan Cathy, said that Chick-Fil-A is “guilty as charged” in support of “the biblical definition of the family unit.”
“We are a family-owned business, a family-led business and we are married to our first wives,” Cathy said in an interview with Baptist Press.
The chains seeks to apply the principles of the Bible in their business. All stores are closed on Sundays in order to observe a day of rest, worship and spend time with their families. They have taken politically incorrect stands and frankly that’s why I like them, and of course, their chicken is the best in the business.
The chain released a statement in which they said that “going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.”
“The Chick-Fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender,” the statement said.
And this is their prerogative to do. They have the right to hold an opinion and a belief about family and marriage and yet still have the right to serve whomever they choose to. This is all part of “freedom of association.”
Yet this does not stop people like Boston’s mayor, Thomas Menino, from taking shots at Chick-Fil-A and saying he will not let a Chick-Fil-A in Boston.
“Chick Fil A doesn’t belong in Boston,” Thomas Menino told the Boston Herald. “You can’t have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. We’re an open city, we’re a city that’s at the forefront of inclusion.”
Democrat Mike Capuano (D-MA) agrees with Menino claiming, “I respect the opinions of all people, even if I don’t agree with them. That includes Mayor Menino’s right to express his opinion, which is one that I share along with many Massachusetts residents. We want to live in a community free from those who discriminate. I see no reason for our community to support the business of someone who discriminates”.
Does this mean that Mayor Menino and Representative Capuano are discriminating against businesses with a different view than their own? Can you say hypocrites? Not only that, but since when does a mayor and a representative’s opinion govern in the matter of a business providing a service and that business’ leaders have a religious view, protected under the First Amendment? These guys are way out of line.
While Republican congressman Richard Tisei said that he is not likely to eat at Chick-Fil-A soon, he also noted “nowadays most Americans recognize that in this country, everybody should be treated equally and fairly under the law.”
Yes everyone should be treated equally and fairly under the law congressman. Homosexual males have the same rights that all of us who are hetero sexual have. They have the right to marry any woman that wants to marry them. The same is true for lesbians. They have the same rights as any hetero-sexual woman. They may marry any man that wishes to marry them. We all do not have the right to marry someone of the same sex, nor do we have the right to marry anyone we love. We are equal and the use of the term equality and trying to pervert what marriage is absolute nonsense.
Boycotts have been called for and it seems that Chick-Fil-A is not backing down from their position. They also aren’t seeing a drop in sales either and why should they? The people that support Chick-Fil-A, for the most part, are decent people and they like the service they get at Chick-Fil-A. In fact, in all my years of traveling around and having to eat out, I have never had a bad experience at Chick-Fil-A.
I applaud them and will continue to patronize them even more. In fact, my wife called while on a trip to visit her mother with several of our children last week and they stopped at a Georgia Chick-Fil-A where the manager was very friendly and came out and talked to her about the Second Amendment and encouraged her concerning family, as we have 9 children. Chick-Fil-A is one of the last remaining true ‘family-friendly’ restaurants around.
At least Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Joe Pitts gave a hearty thumbs up to the chain saying “in America, you can be religious and also run a business according to your conscience.”
In a blog post defending Chick-Fil-A, Pitts wrote,
“I know that Chick-fil-A is from the south, so maybe the liberal activists couldn’t parse the accent, but that does not sound like a discriminating or hateful organization to me.
“Yet, these activists have continued further in their hostile reaction, urging others to consider whether they should even be doing business with Chick-fil-A.
“We live in a country where you don’t have to buy certain goods or services if you don’t want to. Yet, it is cruel for progressive activists to deliberately mislead others into potentially boycotting a company that has long been known for excellent customer service and going the extra mile.
“I commend Chick-fil-A for running a family-oriented business model for over 65 years. I am glad that they shared their beliefs that they want to treat every person with dignity and respect. I also commend their president for exalting the traditional family structure, as our country has since its inception. We are free to express our beliefs in this country.”
Bottom line. If you are a conservative, I encourage you to “Eat More Chikin,” as the cows write it, and support Chick-Fil-A for taking a stand for what is good and right in this world.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
