Law Center Pushes to Force Obama to Help Iraq’s Persecuted Christians

The American Center for Law and Justice have recently put together a petition drive to force the Obama administration to act on behalf of Christians in Iraq.

While I can already hear the guffaws from most people, I do think there is something to be said for the organization’s passion to help Christian brothers and sisters around the globe, who are under persecution from the Islamic State.

The petition already has over 300,000 signatures at the time of the writing of this article. Here’s how it reads:

The unthinkable is happening in the Middle East.

The Islamic State, also known as ISIS, has rolled through Iraq, and they are brutal beyond imagining.

They’ve given Iraqi Christians an ultimatum: “Convert, leave, or die.”

They’ve marked Christian homes and businesses like the Nazis marked Jewish homes.

Christians are fleeing for their lives by the tens of thousands.

They’ve sought refuge in Kurdistan; but so far the Obama Administration has refused to arm the Kurds, and humanitarian aid is very slow to arrive.

There’s no excuse for delay. After the Holocaust, the world promised “never again.” Never again would it stand aside and watch genocide occur.

Tell the Obama Administration to take action. Arm our allies, the Kurds. Flood humanitarian aid to besieged Christians. We cannot allow genocide in Iraq.

Stop the Genocide of Christians in Iraq

President Obama,

We have allies on the ground ready to protect Christians. Arm the Kurds. There are tens of thousands of desperate refugees. Flood them with humanitarian aid. America must declare to the world that it will not permit genocide of Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities.

Daily we see many stories of how Islamists are torturing, raping, enslaving and murdering my Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East. It is enough to make my blood boil and also to drive me to my knees on their behalf for God’s grace to sustain them. However, I’m also well aware that the man in the White House is one of the Islamists, which is why he can’t even bring himself to describe these savages as “Islamic.”

Yet, I’m also reminded of the fact that King Darius was not a believer and yet, he was the one who released God’s people to return home and even supplied them with everything they needed to rebuild their city. Barack Obama does not control his own destiny. His heart is in the hand of God (Prov. 21:1) just like any other man and God can turn it when, if and where He wills.

So, if you are in favor, sign the petition in favor of this endeavor and then let us petition the King of Heaven to act on our behalf. Also, don’t forget to pray for and provide support to Jeremiah and his team as they go help the people in the Middle East, who are fighting these Islamic devils.
