The people of Virginia have been up in arms regarding their right to bear arms as of late, thanks to the Democratically-controlled state government and their attempts to subvert our Second Amendment.
For months on end, Virginians have been concerned about ever-stricter gun control measures being proposed by the statehouse and supported by Governor Ralph Northam. On social media, some have even expressed concern that this political maneuvering could lead to gun confiscation or a second Civil War.
Jerry Falwell, President of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, has had his finger on the pulse of the issue for some time, and has issued a stern statement condemning those who would meddle with the Constitution…even calling for “civil disobedience” should the measures pass.
Earlier this week in a radio interview, Falwell said, “I’m pretty sure I’m going to call for civil disobedience if the Democrats go through with this.”
On Thursday, he said he predicts there will be civil disobedience, meaning law enforcement won’t enforce the new laws and citizens won’t follow them.
“I’ve talked to some sheriffs already who contacted me after I said I predicted civil disobedience and they said, ‘We’re in lockstep with you on that if you want to get all the sheriffs together and make that a public statement, we’ll do it.’ So law enforcement too. It’s not just citizens,” Falwell said.
Virginians have so far been civil in their protests against the proposed changes, even when gathered en masse last week in Richmond to protest these likely unconstitutional changes.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
