As if the case of Jeffrey Esptein’s suicide couldn’t get any stranger, news out of Manhattan today has added yet another layer of intrigue to the mystery.
Epstein was, by all accounts, a wealthy man. Where money came from, no one really knows for sure, and the speculation on that subject is rampant and varied.
What we do know, however, is that Epstein was running a despicable ring of underage female prostitutes, many of whom would be considered children, and that his inner circle included some of the most powerful people on the planet. Epstein cavorted with then-businessman Donald Trump, then-President Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew of the UK…just to name a few.
So when he suddenly committed suicide, days after being removed from suicide watch at one fo the nation’s most secure correctional facilities, the nation simply refused to believe it. Then, when the facts surrounding his death came to light, even more disbelief was conjured. Unbelievably, on the night of Epstein’s death, cameras in that section of the prison were malfunctioning while his guards both slept and falsified their duty logs to show that they had checked in on their notable guest when they had not.
That last action could see these guards put behind bars themselves.
Two correctional officers responsible for guarding Jeffrey Epstein the night he killed himself were charged Tuesday with falsifying prison records.
A grand jury indictment made public Tuesday accused guards Toval Noel and Michael Thomas of neglecting their duties by failing to perform checks on Epstein every half hour, as required, and of fabricating log entries to show they had.
The charges against the officers are the first in connection with the wealthy financier’s death in August at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York.
The “official story” of Epstein’s suicide has been considered by the public, nearly unanimously, to be either fraudulent or conspiratorial in nature, and has spawned a number of memes and theories regarding what actually took place.
