Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Blasts Montgomery County MD After Release Of Alleged Child Molester

ICE agents are blasting leadership in Montgomery County, Maryland following the release of an alleged child molester who’s in the country illegally.

Luis Fredy Hernandez-Morales was freed from custody earlier this week after the agency launched a detainer against him. He has been accused of molesting a young female relative of his and police believe there may be more victims.

It is time to start prosecuting county officials for aiding and abetting criminals.

Immigration officers are blasting Montgomery County after the release of an alleged child molester.

48-year-old undocumented Guatemalan national Luis Fredy Hernandez Morales of Springfield, Va. is charged with inappropriately touching a young girl he is related to. Police say he molested the girl while staying at her home in Montgomery County this summer. Hernandez-Morales is active in the youth ministry at a Gaithersburg church and police believe there may be other victims.

Immigrations and Customs Enforcement says it lodged a detainer with Montgomery County on Tuesday. But ICE claims that detainer was not honored and that county officials released Morales-Hernandez on bond the next day. The federal agency says it then apprehended Hernandez-Morales in Springfield, Va. on Friday.

“The best way to serve public safety is to work together,” Acting ICE Baltimore Field Officer Director Frank Madrigal said in a statement. “Montgomery County had indicated they would securely transfer dangerous criminals to our custody rather than release them to the community where they can reoffend. These actions indicate they intend otherwise.” More

In my opinion, anyone who would opt to release a criminal to the streets rather than another agency for disposition is no better than the criminal they released. People who do this are not legitimate law enforcement officers and should not continue to have a job.

You can place the blame for this endangerment of US citizens squarely on each and every member of Congress, both Houses. They refuse to enact legislation which would require state and local authorities to fully cooperate with federal authorities in dealing with undocumented immigrants.
