The new United States Congress is actually going to attempt to de-fund at least some of the Homeland Security budget that pertains to president Obama’s illegal executive action on immigration.
I’d like to quickly go off topic for just a moment and ask a question. Is there another name for these “immigrants”? Can someone come up with a more appropriate name for these illegals Obama is legalizing please? Criminal trespassers, maybe, or worse when I report what I’m about to report.
Well, it seems the Congress isn’t the only one trying to stop Obama. There are 24 states also trying to block the president’s illegal immigration decree.
And why are the States getting involved? Obviously they understand that just like every other mandate imposed on them by the feds, the States will be left holding the financial bag.
And they also, most likely, realize that when the feds announced a target number, as in 4 million illegals in this case, the number is guaranteed to be much greater. The States will be on the hook for their education, healthcare, etc., none of which they can afford.
MailOnline reports that a brief released by Wisconsin says “States will have to pay millions of dollars to remediate the problems created by the directive. It will be difficult or impossible to recover those costs from the federal government.”
Texas estimates it will lose over $174 each by having to issue IDs to its projected 1.6 million illegals. I guarantee that number is low. Where are they going to get this money?
A brief submitted to a Texas court explains that “In just the last two years Texas has spent $1.313 billion on administering medical care to illegal immigrants and $303 million in emergency Medicaid money. The cost of educating illegal immigrant children in Texas is nearly $9500 a pupil, annually.”
JB Van Hollen, Wisconsin’s Attorney General, stated that once illegals have IDs, Social Security numbers, and work permits “they will get unemployment benefits,” and “they are going to be able to lawfully carry firearms when they are not even lawfully in the country.”
However, the Daily Mail reported that “Department of Justice guidelines once posted to the agencies website and obtained by DailyMail.com states that it’s a crime for illegal residents to have guns, let alone purchase them.” The DOJ has yet to confirm that this is still current policy.
Second Amendment Foundation founder and firearms expert Alan Gottlieb told DailyMail.com that illegal immigrants are still barred from buying or owning guns in the U.S., undercutting Wisconsin’s argument.
I respectfully disagree with Mr. Gottlieb, in that the “illegals” will no longer be illegal, and thus, in my opinion, they will be granted all the rights and privileges of legal citizens.
But so what. These are just “dreamers” who came to America to build a better life. So what if they want to own and carry a loaded weapon, having, most likely, absolutely zero training. What could go wrong?
And why would hard-working immigrants consider collecting unemployment? They came here to work hard, not to sit around and collect more free money than they’ve ever seen in their lives.
I frankly don’t see the problem.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com on Instagram.
