We continue to see the mounting crimes of those who are entering the States illegally. The latest story comes out of New York where an illegal alien allegedly raped a girl between the ages of 12 and 13, and on one occasion raped her in front of a baby.
According to the Livingston County News, Fernando Alvarado-Perez, 37, was charged with first-degree rape, criminal sexual act and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The Genesee Sun also reported that on one occasion, Perez raped the girl in front of a baby.
Livingston County News reports:
Alvarado-Perez was arraigned in Geneseo Town Court Justice Thomas Bushnell and was remanded to the Livingston County Jail without bail.
According to Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, Alvarado-Perez made statements in which he advised officers that he had come into the United States illegally about 10 years ago.
Geneseo Police then reached out to Border Patrol officers to notify them of the statements Alvarado-Perez made.
An immigration detainer was subsequently issued by the Department of Homeland Security to the Livingston County Jail where Alvarado-Perez is being held.
The police department adopted a policy in May following a traffic stop that resulted in discovering two women and six children who were suspected of being in the country illegally.
"The actual traffic stop drew a crowd of protesters to Mary Jemison Drive in the village, garnered widespread media attention and spurred subsequent protests in Rochester," Livingston County News reported. "Osganian said his office’s new policy didn’t really come into play in this situation because officers’ were investigating a crime they had reason to suspect had occurred."
Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian told the Livingston County News in an email Monday: “Our officers were concerned about investigating this incident and assisting the family the best we could with referral services to other agencies. His immigration status wasn’t a priority to us.”
Texas resident Renda Cole set up a Go Fund Me page for the victim, who she claims to know. The fund will help pay for the medical care the young victim received.
“This family is already in hard times,” wrote Cole in an email to Livingston County News. “They just lost their car to an accident involving a big deer and that child is going to need a great psychologist and that’s not something the state is going to cover. If anything to help the family can be made from using the attention this gets especially with the title illegal immigrant then good. It cannot fix what he did but it can help them as they deal.”
