Amid the impeachment circus that is currently caravanning about Washington DC, a renewed interest in the Biden family’s overseas business dealings is making things tough for the former 2020 frontrunner and former Vice President, “Sleepy” Joe.
President Trump has come under criticism by Democrats for his attempts to root out corruption with US allies, including within Ukraine where the Biden family has long been economically active. The left interpreted the President’s campaign to mitigate such misdeeds as some sort of “foreign collusion” for personal gain – not unlike the ruse they already attempted with “RussiaGate”.
But the renewed criticism of Trump is taking a heavy toll on the Biden name, with Joe’s son Hunter even emerging for a rare interview this week in an attempt to shore up confidence in his ethics.
That is not what happened.
During a much-anticipated appearance on ABC, Hunter Biden, the son of 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful former Vice President Joe Biden denied any wrongdoing regarding his business dealings with companies in Ukraine and China.
The younger Biden’s rambling responses included an admission that nepotism may very well have played a role in his international business successes.
“In retrospect, look, I think that it was poor judgment on my part,” the younger Biden said. “Is that I think that it was poor judgment because I don’t believe now when I look back on it — I know that there was — did nothing wrong at all. However, was it poor judgment to be in the middle of something that is a swamp in—in—in many ways? Yeah.”
“So I take full responsibility for that,” he continued. “Did I do anything improper? No, not in any way. Not in any way whatsoever. Did I make a mistake based upon some ethical lapse? Absolutely not.”
Biden acknowledged he would “probably not” have gotten the board position Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma if he were not the son of the vice president. However, he denied impropriety or any ethical lapse.
Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign has taken a major slide in the polls as the Ukraine scandal erupted onto the national scene, with Senator Liz Warren of Massachusetts now claiming the top spot in the race outright.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
