The House approved an amendment to the 2013 defense spending bill that would ban the Department of Defense (DoD) from spending any federal dollars to violate the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
According to The Hill,
King said the language, similar versions of which have passed the House before, is needed because of President Obama's growing support for same-sex marriage. King said that support is permeating the federal government.
"We saw the president of the United States make some statements along the way that his position was evolving on marriage," King said. "That seemed to be a signal to the Department of Defense, who issued two memorandum [sic]."
The DoD issued several memos last year stating that they might use military facilities to conduct same-sex weddings, as well as, use military chaplains in them. King claims that those policy changes violate DOMA and since DOMA is still law, then the law should be followed.
"Pretty simple statute being contravened by the directives of the president of the United States as exercised through the secretary of Defense," King said.
Democrats have claimed that the amendment was brought up for "purely political reasons," as if Obama and Holder weren't attacking DOMA for "purely political reasons!"
This has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with what marriage actually is. Frankly I'm sick of homosexuals taking and twisting language in order to get their way and politicians going along with it. They took a perfectly good word 'gay' and transformed it into a means to present their sodomy. Now they want to alter the definition of marriage to exploit their perversion.
Thanks to those in the House that passed the amendment. It looks like the Defense Department will have to continue defending properly defined marriage for now.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
