You just couldn't make this stuff up if you wanted to! A major Obama administration scandal is running on four months and still the American people have no real answers. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was scheduled to testify on the Benghazi attacks that took place back in September, but apparently it was reported that she came down with the flu, collapsed and hit her head and not that seems to have resulted in a blood clot, which may and probably in all likelihood will, keep her from testifying on Benghazi.
Clinton's doctors discovered the clot Sunday while performing a follow-up exam, her spokesman, Philippe Reines, said. He would not elaborate on the location of the clot but said Clinton was being treated with anti-coagulants and would remain at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for at least the next 48 hours so doctors can monitor the medication.
"Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion," Reines said in a statement. "They will determine if any further action is required."
Clinton, 65, fell and suffered a concussion while at home alone in mid-December as she recovered from a stomach virus that left her severely dehydrated. The concussion was diagnosed Dec. 13 and Clinton was forced to cancel a trip to North Africa and the Middle East that had been planned for the next week.
The seriousness of a blood clot "depends on where it is," said Dr. Gholam Motamedi, a neurologist at Georgetown University Medical Center who was not involved in Clinton's care.
Clinton, 65, has not been seen in public in weeks. Her December 20 testimony before Congress on the September 11 attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi were cancelled due to her collapse.
Some have speculated that Clinton was faking the seriousness of her illness, such as Rep. Allen West (R-FL). Still others have put out the idea that Clinton was actually injured in a crash landing 3 weeks ago in the Iranian city of Ahvaz near the Iraqi border and US Navy SEAL Commander Job W. Price was also reportedly killed in the incident, though ABC reports that Price's death is being investigated as suicide. If this were true, it would open up a whole new can of worms for the administration.
I'm wondering, if she never gets around to testifying will the GOP Senators that said they wouldn't approve Obama's appointment of Sen. John Kerry as Secretary of State will change.
