Obama’s American Doggy Biscuit

I have had one or more dogs since I was old enough to walk, and I have three now; all rescue animals. While playing with my Tibby after Thanksgiving dinner, it occurred to me that the “Healthcare.Gov” web site is performing exactly as planned from the outset.

My Tibby is an arrogant little snot. When I try to sneak her a piece of turkey (her favorite food in all the world) she studies the offering with a haughty disdain and displays no small amount of suspicion as if she truly expects me to poison her someday.

I offer her the morsel; she sniffs it and then turns her head slightly to one side as if she is not interested.  At which point, I pretend that I am going to take it away and give it to her siblings. At which point, she will stare at the morsel like a half starved lion staring at a sleeping gazelle and then she looks at me with those big brown eyes with the saddest and pleading eyes God ever created. At which point, I will renew my offer, and she will snatch the offering and step away to consume her prey with a defiant pride in her successful hunt.

So, as “HealthCare.Gov” was initially launched everyone expressed various levels of disinterest and stared at it with suspicion until the site is taken down. Today, it is back again, implemented with a technical sleight of hand. For the techies, they have taken a pseudo “on-line” system and restructured it into a background “batch processing” system; think large decks of IBM 80 column cards.

It is simply the “doggy biscuit” trick that I repeat daily with my Tibby. The great success of the site is not whether or not it functions at all, much less safely, the success of the Obamacare web site is that its two-step “roll-out” has confined the national conversation to the site and not what it represents – Socialized Health Care.

And those opposed to this violation of everything American, especially those at the national level, are just plain too damned stupid to see what is happening.

  • Where is the continuing outrage over the “Affordable Health Care Act” itself?
  • Where is the media campaign to expose what is about to hit the middle class?
  • Where is the exposure of the millions of retirees whose contracts with their employers are now null and void in light of Obamacare?
  • Where is the grass roots effort to educate their communities about the financial devastation about to be visited upon them – AFTER the next election?

I am always conflicted when trying to make a determination as to whether the DSIC (Dip-S***-In-Charge) is truly as stupid and ignorant as he sometimes appears to be or whether he is some sort of evil chess master committed to the destruction of our once great nation.

If the RNC / GOP / CCCC (Crony Capitalists Country Club) truly meant to fight this abomination legislation, they would dedicate some of their treasure trove to educating America. Obviously, they are not that interested.

So I guess it is up to the rest of us to educate our respective communities with verifiable FACTS well in advance of the next election, and see if there is sufficient will and love of freedom left in this country to make the effort worthwhile.
