Everyone wants to pay more in taxes, right? Especially those who are rich. At least that is the thinking of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). He made that claim during an radio interview with KNPR radio on Thursday.
When asked by the host if Reid would be willing to make concessions on Medicare and Social Security in a long term budget deal, which, by the way, Reid has not passed a budget in five years, he told the host to “stop talking about that” and “get something else in your brain.”
Additionally he added:
“…the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The rich know that. The rich are willing to pay more. They’re not the ones out here saying, ‘please don’t tax me.’ The only people who feel there shouldn’t be more coming in to the federal government from rich people are the Republicans in the Congress. Everybody else, including rich people, are willing to pay more. They want to pay more. So, yeah, but we’re going to have to have mainstream Republicans step up again.”
What? So, wait. Only Republicans in Congress don’t want higher taxes? Tell me there is someone in my audience that makes loads of money that wants to keep more of it. If not, at least I know my boss makes lots of money and wants to keep more of it and wants his employees to keep more of it. Anyone with half a brain wants to keep more of what they work hard to earn.
As for liberals in Hollywood like Will Smith and Jay Z, who want to back people like Barack Obama and say they are ok with paying more taxes, well then, why don’t you? Why don’t these ultra-rich liberals go ahead and contribute voluntarily their hard earned money to government without force? I know why. They want to keep more of what they earn for one simple reason: It’s their’s.
Reid said that the 45 attempts by Republicans to create a budget that would have repealed or defunded Obamacare was insanity.
“It’s really hard to try to be rational and logical with people who are illogical and not rational,” Reid said.
Well Harry Reid, now you know what anyone that attempt to negotiate with you and those of your ilk feel like.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
