If there are two things citizens can count on Democrats to do, it is to call our republic a democracy and attack the God-given individual unalienable rights of the people to keep and bear arms. The latest Democrat to launch an attack on law-abiding gun owners and the National Rifle Association (NRA) is none other than Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York. During a Fox News town hall Sunday night, Gillibrand dubbed the NRA the "worst organization in this country".
According to The Washington Free Beacon:
Asked what she would to do regarding guns and whether her policies would have prevented Friday's massacre in Virginia Beach, Gillibrand said too many families were being torn apart because of gun violence. She ripped into the NRA, from which she once had an A-rating in the House of Representatives.
"I think the most outrageous thing that's happened to our democracy is how much fear and division and hatred has been spread," she said. "I think the NRA is the worst organization in this country for doing exactly that. They care more about their profits than the American people. They care more about selling guns to someone on the terror watch list or someone with grave mental illness or someone who has a violent criminal background. They're against universal background checks."
While Gillibrand accuses the NRA for spreading fear, division, and hatred, she provides zero evidence to back up the claim. Moreover, she never answered the question asked of her, which was to explain what her actions would be regarding guns and whether the policies she would implement would have prevented the Virginia Beach shooting on Friday. Instead, she raled against the NRA saying the organization cared more "about selling guns to someone on the terror watch list" or someone with a mental illness or one who has a violent background. Evidently, Gillibrand has not been paying attention because the NRA has supported measures proposed by government officials that infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. And, like many others, Gillibrand claimed the NRA only cares about selling guns despite the fact the NRA does not sell firearms. Like all willfully ignorant individuals in the Democratic Party, she refers to the united States as a democracy, instead of a republic as founded by our Constitution. The reason Gillibrand did not answer the question is because there is no measure, law or regulation concerning firearms nor any policy advocated by any politician that would have prevented the Virginia Beach shooting.
But, when has any Democrat cared about getting the facts straight?
On a roll, Gillibrand urged Americans to "stand up" to the greed and corruption of the NRA; then, she rapidly shifted to proposing "publicly funded elections" as a method to remove money out of politics while pledging to impose universal background checks (an unconstitutional measure already in place), ban bump stocks (already done through unconstitutional edict), ban large magazines, "assault rifles", and "military style weapons". For someone who once had an "A" rating from the NRA, this is a 180-degree shift in position.
While she describes the NRA as "the worst organization in the country", she conveniently omits the organization that murders innocent babies in the womb in a murder for hire scenario, Planned Parenthood, then sells those parts to the highest bidder. In a scenario that is illegal throughout the united States under any other circumstance, 56 million American citizens have had their life snuffed out since the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade in 1973.
Likewise, she fails to mention the Democratic position shift to supporting infanticide, which is murder.
In the typical Democratic anti-constitutional attitude, murdering babies in the womb, infanticide, and infringing on the rights of others is acceptable; but, for the political elite, you better not lay a finger on their rights.
Gillibrand outright stated the NRA has sewn fear, division and hatred. Where was she during the last administration that for eight years peddled fear, division and hatred, dividing American citizens along every demographic imaginable and setting race relations back 50 – 60 years? She wasn't paying attention. As with all Democrats, Gillibrand is short on facts and long on emotion.
While she laments over the NRA wanting to sell guns to "someone on the terror watch list", a false statement, she conveniently forgets the Fast and Furious scandal that plagued the former administration. She overlooks the nearly 40 Islamic jihadi training camps scattered across the united States, known to the federal government and allowed to operate with impunity, where nearby residents have reported hearing automatic gunfire. Two federal raids, one in New Mexico and one in Alabama, exposed child jihadi training programs in an effort to target schools for mass shootings and abject child abuse of the hostage children.
Moreover, Gillibrand proposes that government should do what it is the responsibility of the family to do, which is to keep firearms away from those with mental illness. And, one fact that has long escaped Democrats is criminals don't purchase guns – they steal them.
The Washington Free Beacon continued:
Once we get money out of politics, the NRA will end its chokehold on members of Congress who have no courage to stand up to them and do the right thing on behalf of their constituents and the American people," she said.
Fox News moderator Chris Wallace later pointed out her formerly pro-gun voting position in Congress, asking if that was "brave," a theme of her campaign. As she has done before, Gillibrand pointed to her "rural" House district in the 2000s as the reason for her views before she quickly shifted once she was appointed to the U.S. Senate in 2009. She has compiled one of the Senate's most liberal voting records.
Her old views on guns and immigration have been a sore spot as she seeks the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination. She has frequently apologized and even said she was "embarrassed" by her past positions.
It isn't money out of politics that Gillibrand is actually meaning; it is contributions from the NRA and citizens who hold to the God-given individual unalienable right to keep and bear arms that she wants to cease. Even though she speaks of doing the right thing on behalf of constituents and American citizens, she means the "right thing" according to the representatives' own personal views, which are required to align with the "party" rhetoric. If members of both chambers of Congress actually did the "right thing", they would honor their oath of office, honor God's laws, and govern according to the Constitution for the united States of America.
Gillibrand's shift in position occurred because she sincerely believes in nothing; therefore, she will sway with whichever way the wind blows to garner her the most support. Her previous position would not garner her any support from the minority extreme fringe anti-constitutionalists who are working toward a communist, fascist, socialist form of government, that now seem to be in control of the Democratic Party or at least some members of it. Regardless of whether a district is rural or urban, it does not change the tenets of the Constitution or the God-given individual unalienable rights government was instituted to protect.
All the while Gillibrand is pushing gun confiscation and a welcome mat across the US borders for any and every illegal alien invader that chooses to step up to the border, criminals, leeches, and terrorists cross daily, waiting for the word to engage in jihad to subjugate the citizens of the united States. Without arms in the hands of the people, who will come to the defense of citizens when attacked by criminals and terrorists? Police? Sheriff's deputies? The military or the State guard? Good luck, if that is expected because the Supreme Court ruled that police have zero responsibility to protect the people from criminals and terrorists.
Our military is stretched thin. The federal government has annexed the State guard. Border patrol and Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents receive conflicting "instructions" from the administration; it has made it difficult to enforce the law. With these resources stretched, the people won't receive help in time should chaos erupt. And, as a reminder, officials in this administration believe this sovereign nation needs help from foreign entities to stem illegal alien invasion and "manage" asylum seekers.
Gillibrand should be embarrassed about her official position on firearms and immigration – her current position. While Gillibrand is free to hold any opinion or position she favors on firearms and immigration, her oath of office requires her to uphold, defend and protect the Constitution for the united States of America. Despite her personal opinion or position, her capacity as an elected official is to protect the God-given individual unalienable rights of the people she represents. Anything else is deserving of recall and removal from office.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter.
