Let's be honest, Antifa are nothing but the very fascists they proclaim to abhor. That's why President Donald Trump's former White House strategist Steve Bannon is sure to make a splash with them later this month after he announced he will be attending the "Berkeley Free Speech Event," which begins September 24.
The LA Times reported:
The event is titled “Berkeley Free Speech Week” and is set to begin Sept. 24, the latest in a series of planned speaking engagements by notable conservatives in the liberal enclave. Bannon “will deliver short remarks” on the final day of the event, according to a news release announcing the engagement.
Yiannopoulos is also scheduled to speak at the event, and the release on his website said that “more than 20 additional speakers” will be announced. The 32-year-old appears to relish confrontations with people of different political views. A video posted Tuesday morning on YouTube teasing the speaking engagement was titled: “Bannon Infiltrates Berkeley”
"Uncle Steve was the force behind Trump’s election victory and much of his initial policymaking,” Yiannopoulos said in the release.
"Nothing could be better for the leftists who oppose Trump so vehemently than a lesson in the logic behind Trump’s actions, direct from the architect of his policies.”
You may recall that Yiannopoulos resigned from Breitbart over comments he made, which could easily be understood and were understood as promoting pedophilia.
However, many "conservatives" have been unwilling to call him out on his open declarations of engaging in the crime of sodomy. Yet, they are quick to join hands with him and, like the words of the LA Times piece, refer to him as a "conservative firebrand," which he is not.
But I digress.
Bannon heading to Berkeley will definitely stir things up a bit.
One thing I thought about as soon as I saw this news was asking if maybe UC police officer Sean Aranas might be there to help arrest a few of those Antifa fascists who would attend and become violent rather than steal from a hard working man trying to support his family. I sort of doubt it.
Berkeley seems to stand down alongside their communist and fascists comrades.
Writing at Hot Air, Jazz Shaw commented:
There’s an obvious comparison to be drawn here because Ben Shapiro is notable and hated on the left primarily just for his own personal style, writings and public appearances. But thanks to the mainstream media and the national patchwork of #RESIST groups, Bannon is as close as they’re likely to get to having an actual dragon to slay.
Cable news outlets and the major, left side newspapers have built Bannon into something of a mythic figure, depicted as the “real brains” behind the Trump campaign as well as the author of some of his most despised policies as viewed by liberals. When he wound up with a senior advisory role inside the Oval Office the outrage in many quarters was palpable.Time Magazine was obviously trying to get under Donald Trump’s skin when they put Bannon on the cover (an effort which reportedly had some effect), but they also lofted him further up in the hierarchy of hate on the left.
This should leave us wondering precisely how much security will be on hand at Berkeley that week and how willing they will be to fight back against any violent left wing attackers. Because if there’s a more tempting target for Antifa than Bannon (short of Donald Trump himself, of course) I can’t think of it off the top of my head. But perhaps that’s the idea behind this in the end. After all, the whole show is being staged by Milo and there seems to be little that he likes more than generating controversy and mayhem. Assuming nobody is killed or seriously injured, a major Antifa incursion and riot would probably be the best PR that this event could generate.
Grab your popcorn everyone, this should be an interesting show.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook, Google Plus, & Twitter. You can also get Freedom Outpost delivered to your Amazon Kindle device here.
