You just can't suppress the truth, no matter how hard you try! What many of us have assumed is now being confirmed by former Facebook employees, and that is that Facebook is knowingly and willingly censoring news outlets that promote the truth, the Constitution, real conservative views and Biblical law.
Facebook workers routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network's influential "trending" news section, according to a former journalist who worked on the project. This individual says that workers prevented stories about the right-wing CPAC gathering, Mitt Romney, Rand Paul, and other conservative topics from appearing in the highly-influential section, even though they were organically trending among the site's users.
Trending: We Are Going Back To Hillary’s
Several former Facebook "news curators," as they were known internally, also told Gizmodo that they were instructed to artificially "inject" selected stories into the trending news module, even if they weren't popular enough to warrant inclusion—or in some cases weren't trending at all. The former curators, all of whom worked as contractors, also said they were directed not to include news about Facebook itself in the trending module.
In other words, Facebook's news section operates like a traditional newsroom, reflecting the biases of its workers and the institutional imperatives of the corporation. Imposing human editorial values onto the lists of topics an algorithm spits out is by no means a bad thing—but it is in stark contrast to the company's claims that the trending module simply lists "topics that have recently become popular on Facebook."
In a previous report by Gizmodo, a former curator said, "Depending on who was on shift, things would be blacklisted or trending. I'd come on shift and I'd discover that CPAC or Mitt Romney or Glenn Beck or popular conservative topics wouldn't be trending because either the curator didn't recognize the news topic or it was like they had a bias against Ted Cruz."
This led the curator to keep a running log of items that were omitted and those that were trending.
"I believe it had a chilling effect on conservative news," the former curator said.
"It was absolutely bias," said another previous curator. "We were doing it subjectively. It just depends on who the curator is and what time of day it is. Every once in a while a Red State or conservative news source would have a story. But we would have to go and find the same story from a more neutral outlet that wasn't as biased."
"We were told that if we saw something, a news story that was on the front page of these ten sites, like CNN, the New York Times, and BBC, then we could inject the topic," added another former curator. "If it looked like it had enough news sites covering the story, we could inject it—even if it wasn't naturally trending."
If that was not enough, the story took off on FOX News, as well.
While this does not come as a surprise to many of us who actually use Facebook to get real news out to people, the reality is that Facebook demonstrates this kind of censorship in its business model. For instance, they will take the money of conservative outlets in order to obtain "likes," and then turn around and bottleneck their traffic to those who liked their page. They will then hold their hand out for large sums of money to promote one single article to those who liked their page for hundreds of dollars.
Is this not unethical? Is it not double dipping? Isn't the purpose of liking a page to see what that page is producing? Instead, what I have noticed is that I get ads and feeds from other people I'm not even friends with!
In any case, it appears that Mark Zuckerberg and company are simply minions of the global powers who are attempting to push forth the
New World Order agenda and indoctrinate the masses. Well, there are still those among us who believe that the tools of social media are to be used for the glory of God and the advancement of His kingdom both in America and around the world. That's why we fight against those who would seek to censor our message.
