Fireworks Fly As Democrats Trade Punches In Vegas Debate

The Democrats’ showdown in Las Vegas Wednesday night frequently put Mike Bloomberg in his primary rivals’ crosshairs as the surging billionaire made his debate-stage première.

But the fire quickly expanded into an all-out rumpus and easily the most contentious debate of the nomination season to date, as each of the candidates took intense and often personal shots at one another.

Democratic presidential candidates met in Las Vegas for the ninth Democratic Party primary debate Wednesday, but it was the first time billionaire and former New york City Mayor Mike Bloomberg qualified to make the stage, and his competitors clearly came compared to deal with him.

Six candidates were on the stage, with Bloomberg taking the place of entrepreneur Andrew Yang, who dropped out of the race following a poor performance in the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary. The candidates were Bloomberg, Massachusetts Sen. Warren, Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, former Vice President Joe Biden, and former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

The ninth debate, put on by NBC and MSNBC, was far more combative than past debates, with moderators allowing candidates to go back and forth freely with their arguments.

This was the first debate since Warren and Biden’s crash in the polls. Sanders mounted the stage as the firm frontrunner for the first time, followed by Buttigieg and Bloomberg, who invested tens of millions in online ads to near-instantaneously shoot him up in the polls.

The media has pulled no punches against Bloomberg since his rise, however, highlighting his alleged history of fostering racist and sexist work environments, carrying water for communist China and endorsing stop-and-frisk policing, all of which were cited heavily in the debate. More

What a clown show. The gloves came off and they are tore each other apart. I love it! The only thing this debate proved is you don’t want any of these clowns in charge.

I think we can safely say that the winner of tonight’s debate was President Donald Trump. So many free video clips for his campaign ads.
