Earlier this week, FBI Director James Comey was called to once again testify before Congress in connection to the Hillary Clinton email imbroglio. This round of questioning would focus mainly on the odd decision that the FBI made to grant immunity to five persons of interest in the email scandal. The immunity deals were odd because the FBI ended up declining to prosecute anyone for anything… even though the case was serious enough that five individuals (who all pled the 5th Amendment under oath before Congress) were granted immunity for whatever actions they took as the email controversy unfolded.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the FBI usually only “proffers” immunity deals in return for genuine information and requirements that the recipients cooperate with other investigating bodies, such as Congress. That said, in this specific case its unclear what the FBI received in return for their immunity deals other than what they could have otherwise taken with a subpoena. As Jim Jordan (R-OH) said, “if the FBI wanted any other Americans’ laptops, they would just go get them—they wouldn’t get an immunity deal.” But, of course, by offering immunity, the FBI exempted the laptops and their emails as potential evidence in a criminal case.
Into this mess stepped Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), who spoke with and questioned Director Comey this past Wednesday. Jordan used his opportunity to walk Comey through the facts of the case, expertly guiding him with yes or no questions before finally leading him to admit what most conservatives already suspected to be true. In just a few short minutes Jordan is able to get the FBI chief to admit that the Clinton team tried to cover up their crimes by tampering with evidence pertinent to an ongoing federal investigation! Sadly, the FBI decided that what should have been damning evidence of Hillary’s corruption, would simply be swept under the rug in an effort to protect Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration.
Here’s what Rep. Jordan said about the FBI’s decision to grant immunity to Clinton’s IT crew:
Here’s the takeaway in my mind: [Cheryl] Mills gets a heads up in mid-summer of 2014. July 23, the day before Mr. Combetta’s Reddit post, the House Benghazi Committee and the State Dept. reached an agreement on production of documents. Mills has a conversation with Paul Combetta. He goes on Reddit then, and tries to figure out how he can get rid of all this email. Even though he is not successful then, he has to do it later on with BleachBit. And then the clincher: Just last week, he’s going online and trying to delete these Reddit posts. He’s trying to delete his tracks. He’s trying to cover up the cover-up…
The same guy later took BleachBit and did delete the emails. The guy you gave immunity to, the guy who took the Fifth in front of us, is online trying to figure out how to remove email addresses (change evidence). That guy who later used Bleachbit, who won’t testify in front of Congress, has correspondence with [Hillary Clinton chief of staff] Cheryl Mills, a subject of the investigation. Cheryl Mills, who also got some kind of immunity agreement. Cheryl Mills, who walked out for part of the questions during her interview with the FBI.
Watch as Rep. Jordan proves conservatives right, and liberals liars:
