The DNC has been working swiftly to whittle down the litany of liberal candidates that are running for President in 2020, and the added pressure can be felt throughout the race.
Most notably, the newly-strict qualifications that candidates must maintain in order to participate in the televised debates have cause many to scramble in their hopes of securing one of the suddenly scarce spots on the dais.
For Beto O’Rourke, these new guidelines have forced the low-polling Texan to lash out at the President, often using vulgarity.
Now, as that strategy continues to fail, the El Paso native has unleashed a new policy proposal regarding the Second Amendment that voters in the Lone Star State and beyond are calling unconstitutional.
O’Rourke was asked Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia, how he would address the fears of some Americans that the government would take away their assault weapons.
“I want to be really clear that that’s exactly what we are going to do,” the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate said. “Americans who own AR-15s, AK-47s, will have to sell them to the government. We’re not going to allow them to stay on our streets, to show up in our communities, to be used against us in our synagogues, our churches, our mosques, our Walmarts, our public places.”
Beto’s turn against the Second Amendment came after a recent mass shooting in his hometown of El Paso, Texas.Don't forget to Like Freedom Outpost on Facebook and Twitter, and follow our friends at RepublicanLegion.com.
